TAFOL Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Licensed themes, I love them. From Lord of the Rings and Toy Story to Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter, I always end up collecting some or all sets from a licensed theme. As was the case with the Prince of Persia theme, back in 2010, of which I collected nearly all sets (with the exception of sets 7571, 7573 and 20017). For a short-lasting theme, Prince of Persia had some outstanding sets, which is why I chose this theme for the "Redesign a set in another theme"-contest at Lowlug.nl. For a while, I had been looking for a set that offered me a challenge to build into another theme and after some time, my attention was drawn to set 41108. Because what's better than to turn a modern food market into an Arabian food market, right? So I stacked one brick onto the other and after a while, I had the following result: Here's the story behind this MOC: Help Dastan defeat the Hassansin at the Alamut food market! While visiting the local food market with princess Tamina, Dastan, the prince of Persia, suddenly has to draw his dagger when he walks into an ambush. At the food market, a Hassansin was waiting for him under the stairs, ready to take him prisoner and bring him back to the palace. Can Dastan escape just in time, is Tamina quick enough to save him or is this the last time he's been to the Alamut food market? As a little extra, I made it modular (the roof, de 1st floor and the terrace all can be lifted off for a full view of the detailed interior). On the ground floor, there is the market area. Crates of fruit are all around, a pair of scales can be used to weigh all sorts of merchandize and an abacus can be utilized to calculate the costs of a certain product. And if you have a pressing matter, you can always go to the toilet, which is located underneath the terrace. On the 1st floor, there is the living area. Ring the bell before entering and relax on the bed of nails, enjoying the cake and wine which are already there. And if you want to spend the night sleeping under the starry night sky, all you need to do is climb the ladder unto the roof, where there is a comfy bed waiting for you. You can view a full set of photos of this MOC on my Brickshelf. And don't forget to like and share this MOC on Facebook. Quote
Hobbythom Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 This is excellent. I would buy this in an instant if it would hit the shelves. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 I would buy several! I own multiples of all of the Prince of Persia sets, but I think this one takes the cake! It really captures the feel of the Middle East! Nice work! Quote
Dosenbrot Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 So much life and detail in this nice little house. We really need more oriental Sets and Themes. Quote

BlueberryWaffles Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 This is beautiful! Reminds me of all the MOCs I saw back in 2010 (or was it 2011?) when those sets came out. Quote
