mutley777 Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Scaning the web last night i came across moc pages website (i had never been on it before) and there i found someone calling himself mutley 777. Looking through his pictures was a bit alarming as he had taken loads of my pictures from my brickshelf gallery and called them his own >:-( . I joined the site and left feedback for one of my MOCs calling him a thief! Any ideas what action i can take against him on the site? He does have a few pictures that are not mine but i would guess that they are not his either! Quote
Corvus Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 (edited) Wow... What possesses people to do that, I have no idea. :-/ Did you report it? That's really the only thing you can do. EDIT: Do you have a link? Two people calling him a thief is better than one. :-P Edited October 20, 2007 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote

I'm sure he'll fix it! ;-) Oh, and BTW, I would've taken this as a compliment! :-P Quote
Asuka Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Send an E-mail to Sean, the owner.. I'm sure he'll fix it! ;-) Sounds like pretty good advice. *y* A strange story, and not funny at all. 8-| Quote
mutley777 Posted October 20, 2007 Author Posted October 20, 2007 Thanks guys. I sent a message to the staff and i hope this will sort things out. I suppose it could be considered a compliment but i just don't like liars. *n* Quote
Corvus Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 What really comfuses me is this: How on earth could you possibly be proud of stealing a MOC? There's no way that he can be proud of it, nor could he be proud of comments people say to him about how nice his MOC is, when he stole it? *wacko* Grr. >:-( Quote

Starwars4J Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 According to the member list, he/she is a member here w/ over 1000 posts. ...did you read the topic? That person is not the same as our member here...maybe take a look at the person who started this thread... Quote
SirNadroj Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 That's odd. I wrote a review, sort of! ;-) And it's weird because I've never reviewed anyone's creations, but it says I reveiwed my own with the name 'jordan box'. Really freaky, I don't know who that is, but I may have been hacked, I don't know. Has that happened to anyone here? 8-| Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 So Mutley and SirNadroj are being aped on MocPages? Eesh, I started an account there, but never did anything with it. I wonder if I even remember the password. ...better go check... Quote

MOC pages would be great if it was for these problems and the n00bs who post non-lego things. No offense. X-D I may jsut stick to flickr, since flickr is the BEST! X-D Quote

X-D I REALLY dislike Yahoo, so BS it is for me. X-D I used MOCpages for the Good the Bad, and the Hinckley comic, and they're not in the right order anyway... No danger of stolen images there. JINZONINGEN73 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Well, screw MocPages... my placeholder page is still there, but I can't log in to it! It sends me a redo password email, I enter everything, then it still doesn't let me in! Hell with this lol. Flickr all the way.... and uploads to brickshelf as a backup. I had a feeling mocpages would suck after some time passed. Quote
Siegfried Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Flickr all the way.... and uploads to brickshelf as a backup. Me too! *sweet* Quote
oo7 Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 You've got mail, buster. Me too! *sweet* And I the thrice. :-P Quote
Corvus Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Wow, look at all those replies to "his" creations... He's (or she) isn't going to know what hit 'em when they check for replies. :-D Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I can't believe someone would steal another person's MOC images. What do they hope to gain? I say we hang 'em! Quote
KMOI Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) It really pains me to see things like this. I mean, acts like these completely defeat the purpose of good, legitimate sites or just sites in general! I had a similar problem with the LEGO Club pages a long while back, but they responded with absolutely astounding speed. From that point onwards, I just hosted my images on Imageshack while posting only on Eurobricks. I'll admit though, none of my creations are worth stealing! :-D Edited October 21, 2007 by KMOI Quote
Brick Miner Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 wow, this sort of thing speaks loudly about MOCpages in general, and that is too bad... i really like the interface of the site, and had really encouraged people to use the site in the past (it was my site migration of choice when BS was down a few months ago). but this and other accounts have really proven the site to have gone down the deep end. i think im done with it - and that is really too bad. MOCpages members have claimed my MOCs were stolen ideas, and left feedback saying i was plagiarizing, but i've never had someone steal mine, yikes !!! its a bunch of irresponsible children on that site - i swear. sorry mutley - BM Quote
mutley777 Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 Thanks everybody! It brought a nice smile to my face reading your comments on his page :-) . I am still waiting to here back from the guys who run MOCpages. Quote

Tanotrooper Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I remember the venator star destroyer made by a lego employee on celebration 3 and so, and someone from mocpages claimed that it was his... Mocpages could work great, but a lot of children/idiot people browse the site... I once had a comment "great idea, ..." with a 1/5 rating *wacko* I hate thiefs TT Quote
