Thanks for summing it up, SW4J!

Now please, let's stop this and get back to my MOC. ;-)

Can't we be friends Chuck? I'm offering you my hand right now: stop this dispute and everything in the future. I've got enough real problems in my life, I don't need virtual ones to! So what do you say? *sweet* This is geting 100% out of hand.

Okay!

So it has been written, so it shall happen! Friendship accepted *sweet*

Thanks Mr. Cleese! *sweet* I didn't have any slopes in dark orange, so I used red, but I did my research and found that in the west there are plenty of red rocks ~ maybe not such a perfect rec, but it'd what I had on hand! ;-)

Oh i knew about the red rocks which is why i figured you perhaps did it on purpose. I just dont think it contrasts well. I would've used brown or normal orange or sand red, maybe even tan myself. Maybe a combo of the those. Sand red would've been ideal but i doubt those parts are even produced in that color.

Edit: actually its grown on me and ive decided it doesnt look all that bad

And they lived happily ever after! *sweet*

I'm glad you two made up- That could've become quite nasty.

Truly original. That counts for more than anything else in my books.

And I don't think there's anythign wrong with the waterfall.

By having a plain and homogenous background (the waterfall), you direct attention to the interesting elements at the side and top of the waterfall, which otherwise would not get as much attention. Also, it would be quite hard to make a waterfall on such a small scale have "waves and splashes" because the waves and splashes would be too big, out of proportion to the whole falls. I don't think the techniques Norro used in his much larger waterfall would be equally well applied here.

It's a concept, not a realistic real life diorama.

I think your series of post-apocalyptic dioramas is one of the most original and clever things I have seen built with Lego in a long time.

Congrats.

Thanks Gylman! *sweet*

Getting some small details for the falls for realism would be hard to fit in there, but I'm sure there could be incorporated in some way, maybe by replacing the last blue row with transparent bricks. :-)

Well you could slip some 1 x 1 trans plates in there, randomly or not so randomly, and the occasional 1x1 trans slope. I'm just not convinced it's worth the trouble.

If we could replace the red with a better colour, I think that woudl be worth the effort. Right now the red canoe is blending with the red side of the waterfall, and you lose something with that.

I really like this but I have to admit that I am perplexed as to why it was built mostly sideways. I can't see what advantage that gave you. 8-| Other than that I think it's great. *sweet* I didn't even think of trying to blend the skeletons and robots. They look odd... *wacko* I love the barrel of death! :-D

BTW, I know you want to be like your heroes Hinkley and Sinner, but you can't settle everything with MOC-offs.

I doubt I'm his hero. If I was he would be doing space MOCs and not torturing poor minifigs! :-P

Sir Nadroj, you are an MOC machine. You certainly give us new stuff all the time! You have an awesome amount of energy and creativity. That being said... 8-| I have to say I'm not as big a fan of this as I am your other stuff. I know the exact reason: Personally, I'm not a big fan of LEGO-built water. I've tried it myself and I've seen a few okay examples but water is such an awesome force, it's one of those things that's so hard to recreate with bricks. Since the bricks you used are transparent it looks even more "brick-y" to me. And expanisve landscaping is hard to capture in a vig, although I appreciate the odd vegatation and red soil... :-)

But besides that, which I can't seem to get past...sorry :-$ ... I really love that machine gun! *wub* *wub* *wub* And I think your custom post-apoc figs rock! *sweet* *y* Can anyone tell me if there is a community-accepted definition of post-apoc somewhere? I think it's open to interpretation and creativity, I don't think you need to adhere to strict rules for it to be considered post-apoc. But, I could be wrong, it's been known to happen :-$ I also love the barrel of death! :-D Yikes...

Thanks for continuing to share your creative projects with us and keep up the energy!! ;-)

So then I'm his hero? *wacko*

so how would you go about making water for a dio Hink? Obviously he has to use something. It would be neat if he used some sort of container and actual water i guess. Then again the water would be left standing and his house would turn into mosquito junction and he'd have to call an exterminator. Is that what you want hink? For poor Sirnadroj to have to call an expensive exterminator to gas his mosquito infested house? He'd have to stay at a hotel too, which would be rather inconvenient for him and all because he used real water. :'-(

Im sorry i was just in a silly mood X-D

Hmm.... post-apocalyptic.... 8-|

There was an apocalypse, life changed a bit, and this is what it looks now.... :-P

Seriously, you can have the Wonderland ran over by mutated Cheshire cats fighting a

gang of machine gun wielding Alices, if this is what you want. Its fiction, after all. *y*

this is very nice sirnadroj I love the creativity of this theme you have created the indians (I should call them native americans) look really cool and nasty and the whole idea of space aged cowboys is fantastic! keep on building (there is no point saying that because your a building machine!)

I should probably mention that as silly as my mood was the question was serious. I want to know how you would make water hink, since you dont like brickbuilt water. I think its okay, especially if your a purist.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! *sweet* I appreciate it, and always consider making changes ~ I actually did make the war-ship more asymmetrical and a little less brown! I'll take more pics later! ;-)

And Sinner and Hinckley ~ the walrus' are made, I'm working on their mode of transportation, now! ;-) Expect to see it all done tomarrow or Sunday! X-D

I agree. While Mad Max is probably the best known version, it doesn't mean it has to be that same as that, or anyone elses idea of it. To me it's like sword and sorcery fantasy in that anything goes!

:-P Should I be scared?! 8-|

Whoops! :-$ I forgot to comment on this, Sorry SirNadroj! :-$

I don't mean to offend when I say I was let down by this one. I like the genre, very similar to Firefly, but with a post-apoc vibe, but it seems you tried to pack to many things into it. For instance: The indians look great as skellie-robots- this equals two categories: sci-fi and fantasy. Then you gave them an indian boat and tools: this makes THREE categories- sci-fi, fantasy, and western. Then the cowboys, they have some tech stuff on them and blasters, but also wear old clothes that contrast with every other thing: This make FOUR categories- sci-fi, fantasy, western AND tech/post-apoc

See where I'm getting at? When too much stuff is added it ends up looking like Fartface's MOC in Hinckley's constructive critisism thread. None of it seems to fit with any other part. I will not criticise the construction, you have done a good job with the details, I personally don't mind using minifig peices, as long as they fit the job and aren't overused ;-)

But what made me most happy with this creation is seeing you doing something new, thats what MOCing is about, so even though I regard it as a letdown, I tip my hat to you for making something different! :-)

Thanks for the link Asuka! :-) That certainly cleared a couple of things up for me. So, clearly, Sir Nadroj can call this post-apoc and doesn't need to justify some sub-theme thereof...

yes, thanks asuka... that really puts it into perspective... post-apoc could describe a sole survor siting on an over-grown green lawn meditating :-D
