Batbrick Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 youll notice these four bley pieces on the storm lasher, they make kind of an engine. Are they new? _________ I was wondering this too, I believe I have seen them befor, but not sure where.... I must get that storm lasher though, if only for those orc swords! *wub* I am FEAR Incarnate! *skull* Quote
natelite Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 well, one good thing out of EF 08 is that the sets are perfect as mf accessories packs. look at all those swords, chainsaws, "guns" (police laser scanners), etc. making tiny spy drones was a good idea too. the kids like them ;-) hope they go on clearance sale so i can arm my troll army! suddenly the lack of shields in most troll sets doesn't matter anymore. actually it makes more sense! the officers (in bronze helmets and pauldrons) will wield axes and shields. as for the common soldiers? dual wielding berserker trolls, baby!!! Quote
Brainbox Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Mmm, purple. *wub* Nice find, thanks mate. I actually quite like these. Nice pieces, generally nice colours and mostly good designs. The tank I like except for the giant back wheel, and the transforming weapons (I wonder where that idea came from... *cough*Transformers Targetmasters*cough*) need a little work, but I guess I could MOD those easily enough. It's good to see Keiken doing something for a change I guess, opther than getting all paternal and grumpy with everyone. :-D As for pieces, well, lot's of nice pieces in lots of nice colours. New grilled slopes, troll swords, yellow Viking horns/teeth (in abundance), red scythes, green pieces, those new spike/slope-things, etc. Not perfect, but they could be with a few MODs. I tell you, the news just keeps flooding in, and it is getting better and better every time. Quote
ReZourceman Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 Oh my god, awesome! Cannot absolutely cannot wait to get these. That new grill is awesome. And lots of purple too! Quote
Wout Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 And where the heck is Ryo and Hitomi? 8-| 8- Quote
iamded Posted October 19, 2007 Posted October 19, 2007 I don't think a set wouldn't sell well because of the minifigures. If they gave a Hitomi a big battle machine, or a big fancy building, and Ryo a giant repair mech or something, then I'm pretty sure they'd sell well. ~Peace Quote

Maybe Hitomi was in a set which later was realised as a bad move and thus was cancelled :'-( But isn't Ryo the purple haired one? He is in the turret of the tank. ;-) I Am FEAR Incarnate! *skull* Quote

If TLC stop with Exo-force, they can also made an impulsive set with Hitomi. It would be awesome to get an female fig impulsive set. (and Maybe Tlc can get off all that Hitomi figs who ly waiting in their storage :-P ;-) ) Quote
hollisbrick Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 THESE SETS ARE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! :'-) Cant wait til 2008! I was hoping to get Ryo in a smaller set. Hope we get impulse EF Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 That's a shame about Hitomi...the Golden Temple was the only decent EF set from this year...and the best (IMO) of the entire theme so far. Quote

natelite Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 and yet Target already has it on clearance... :-/ let's see. no mech. building as porous as a pergola. one crappy flying vehicle. poor color coordination on minifig (seriously...dark bley and purple??? black hair??? duh...i'm no metrosexual but i know a fashion disaster when i see one). hmmm, i wonder why.... hehehehehe. no offense to SW4J though...i know you like it... :-D :-D :-D Quote
maiq the liar Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Mini bots? i used a similar concept in a Looong since dismantled mech i made for keiken called "Kaminari Goro (Eng: Lightning lord) with a device called the GoroSpy. Quote

For a little playset it's fantastic :-$ As for the flying GUN I hate it too, but it's just such a fun little set compared to the rest of EF...especially their other buildings :-$ Quote

I don't mean to be rude, I was just curious, seeing as some people really dislike the Golden Tower. I hope that the awesome Storm Lasher isn't a giant gun, but atleast it looks better than the horrid Sonic Phantom :-X I Am FEAR Incarnate! *skull* Quote

Starwars4J Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 _________Thanks, I can respect that. You liked the Supernova though right? I Am FEAR Incarnate! *skull* Yeah, the Supernova was the only one so far that I liked, I still have it assembled. I loved the technique used for the friction in the wrist, and I think it was the first EF mech to include fingers Quote
iamded Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Other than Ha-Ya-To's small mech (Gate Guardian or something) in Gate Defence. ~Peace Quote
Kahgarak Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Other than Ha-Ya-To's small mech (Gate Guardian or something) in Gate Defence.~Peace Actually, it's not called Gate Defense, but the opposite: Gate Assault ;-) :-P Quote
KMOI Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 More images posted by HJR from Brickshelf! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=280744 Now that we have pictures from all sides, I can finally make a call! I gotta admit, I'm really loving the Tiger and the Storm Lasher. The Tiger is sleek, while boasting an undoubtedly impressive array of weapons while the Storm Lasher boasts an absolutely incredibly innovative redesign to the classic Robot jets (Which was much needed after the generic Sonic Raven). I'm also loving the rest, but I feel certainly let down by the panther mech. There's just something about sharp, pointy pieces and that colour scheme that scream "Megabloks." Quite a shame, really. Oh well, I'm sure this is just because I spent too much time staring at the Megabloks aisle. :-D Yep, this year's going to be a clear winner for Exo-Force! Even though the tank looks sort of mashed together at the last possible minute, the rest of the line looks strong enough to make up for ANY possible weak sets. Sweet digs! Quote
natelite Posted October 22, 2007 Author Posted October 22, 2007 i'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. i love the tank and hate the mechs. :-P the tank is really well constructed. just that the color scheme is definitely a fashion disaster. look at the ground view. it looks fantastic. the back also looks protected. the only gripe i have is that it has two protruding laser guns on the back. will probably need to moc it away. definitely looks like a solid mech warrior type tank. :-P Quote

I might get all the Exo-Force sets next year, to satisfy my cravings for mechs. I didn't like this years xo-Force for the scrawny designs, and the previous year had some very lacklustre sets (sonic phantom, gate assault) but this year is looking great for me, and i am in *wub* with the colours: dark red, dark green, orange, purple! *wub* I Am FEAR Incarnate! *skull* Quote
iamded Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I must say the cockpits are a great improvement from the previous waves. I don't see why Hikaru's rear is exposed though... 8- Quote
