This isn't something I've seen discussed yet (in my short stay here), but how many of you save your original box?

I have just gotten back into LEGO again after a long period time (since I was a child) and have only bought a few sets. The only one I've busted open so far is my Ecto-1, and haven't finished it yet. However, I think I will still save my boxes even after I build my sets, if only to stick them in storage.

What does everyone else do?

Topic has discussed before but not recently.

Yes and no. I save some boxes if they have some value to me, otherwise they are queued to recycle. My recycle pile is getting big, I should get around to actually taking it out to the curb. :classic:

It was a blast to find boxes I saved from 1980. Not sure I'll still be around when the 2015 set boxes are 30 years-old.

Keep some, discard others. I mainly keep big ones, I don't need 50 million battlepack boxes taking up space. The discarded ones get recycled (as all good, environmentally-conscious Lego fans should do!)

I don't keep any boxes. I used to keep all of them, but I found I had too many and wasn't what I was saving them for. Same with sealed sets, I used to keep some but then starting asking myself what the point was. Now I just have three sealed sets and a few sealed polybags.

The instructions are good enough for me for pics of the set.

Nah, don't keep them. I only have 2 boxes (both opened) and the only reason I still have them is because I'm just to lazy to take them downstairs and throw them away.

Edit: I also keep my CUUSOO / Ideas boxes.

I save boxes, but usually flatten them unless I am reusing them or have plans to reuse them. As a child, I'd cut out the pictures, since those were the main point of saving the boxes for me back then — images of alternate models and the like weren't available online. Nowadays I realize cutting out the pictures just makes it harder to keep the boxes organized, so I just unfold and flatten them.

I don't have a permanent place for these flattened boxes currently, they're mostly just in a trunk in my room.

I occasionally save them, and then reuse them to pack presents in for others. It confuses them for a second when they pull back the wrapping to see a LEGO box

I haven't bought all that many sets yet since returning to LEGO, so have saved all my boxes so far. But as buy more, I will probably go along with some others and save only the bigger boxes, more collectible (like UCS) sets.

Right now I just have the Final Duel, Death Star, Ecto-1 and just received the 2-in-1 Ghost and Phantom set.

At the moment ive kept all my boxes

I only got out of the dark ages last year, but alredy i have quite a large collection, Ill probably flatten them as the collection grows, I dont ever plan on selling my lego but just incase.

I only keep Ideas boxes, and the other ones I have right now are for sets I'm shooting reviews of.

Yeah... I don't normally save boxes, but Ideas boxes and Architecture boxes (at least the smaller ones) are maybe a little bit more "special" than standard boxes, and I save those.

I save them, but flattened of course. I have them stacked (in a garbage bag) on top of a big set of built in shelves, its not really taking up useful space for other stuff. I probably will go through and throw out some less interesting boxes as the pile grows.

I flatten them and store them in big garbage bags in the loft of my garage. Not sure why I'm keeping them all, I just can't bring myself to toss them yet. I still have all of my boxes from every Lego set I had as a kid, so I guess I'm just a hoarder lol.

I save them as a lot of my sets aren't on display so I put eh set in the box for storage although I'm sure I could flattens the boxes down and just places the sets in bags that are labelled.

I don't have space for a building room so I don't tend to disassemble sets for MOCing. I've just moved house though and binned quite a few boxes from various sets that i had that probably will never go back into storage and will simply go into a parts bin.
