Hello people,

Is there another way to compare multiple TLG sets I own and want to dismantle with another TLG set.

I am thinking of building the B-model truck of the 8285 tow truck and make it a 6x4.

Rebrickable may help. You just add all your sets and then search what you need - it calculate how much %% of parts you already have and show which parts you do not own yet. If i understood problem correctly...

i am not sure....but if there was a partlist for the B model then that would help you the most, though i am not sure if anyone has made a list of what parts are used in the B of 8285.

otherwise you would have to look at the partlist on Bricklink and download the B model instructions....and just visually make a list of what parts are used in the instructions.

its time consuming but can be done.

i plan to build the B myself at some point so over time i just bought a few parts here and there that i know are used in the set...so when i go to build i have everything in my parts collection.

That's one of the problems I face every time, finding the money to buy parts in general.

Buying collections of parts is very expensive, even every house mom knows what Lego parts are worth, so getting parts for a reasonable price is next to impossible.

So expanding my parts collection that way is not easy.
