Hinckley Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 well ofcourse I'm not a prodigy or anything but who was I suppose to use the cable access painter? :-P I just think that perfectly good pieces are going to waste on kids that chew and destroy their pieces and even at 13 kids are melting miinifigs in the microwave. >:-) That gives me such a great idea! Except I'll use Megablocks! I still don't think I'd give Da Vinci my kids paintbrushes... :-/ that's just me though. :-P Quote

Matn Posted December 18, 2007 Posted December 18, 2007 I confess what I did today: In a big store were they have a bit of everything I found the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts of the 3th movie. Yesterdag night I was thinking of a big Hogwarts castle, a combination of the two latest castles (because they are the most nicest ones). I thought they have the second version in that store (a couple of months ago, they had it, but I didn't care ANYMORE about Harry, now I do) so i went looking. They did, it went from 120 EURO to 90 EURO! WOWZIE! But I don't have many mony, like 20 EURO. So I placed the box (who has a big crack in it, saddly) behind some bigger boxes, from the police station! I'm so evuul! :'-) Let's hope they have that set within two weeks... Quote

Zuloon Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Lol I saw a lone Creator Mythical Creatures on the very top of the lego shelves (on top of all the stored legos). Quote
iamded Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Lol I saw a lone Creator Mythical Creatures on the very top of the lego shelves (on top of all the stored legos). And that's embarassing little quirks in your Lego obsession? I must say today I didn't do any of the things I normally do when I'm building. I didn't blow away any dust, even if there wasn't any in the first place. I didn't build with near all the bricks having the 'LEGO' printing facing the same way. I guess I was just so excited to finally have my precious castle! :-D ~Peace Quote

When I get back, I will build my 8654 Ferrari Racing Truck. X-D :-D Quote
maiq the liar Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've always assumed every AFOL does that. I spend a good part of my life doing that. :-$ i would do that, but i don't want my books/catalogs getting all Toilet-Germy. Quote
Zuloon Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 i would do that, but i don't want my books/catalogs getting all Toilet-Germy. The word toilet + the word germ makes everything sound so disgusting :-D Quote
adik_sa_lego Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 i usually don't deviate from the original instructions, even if a little modification will make the set look/work better. like my newly built 8654 ferrari truck. the truck can't close its roof if the driver has its cap on. i tried modifying it by moving the seat to the middle so that the minifig sits lower. works but the driver can barely rest his arm on the wheel because of the high window. i also tried replacing the 4x2 plate that was getting in the way with a 4x1 plate. also works, but im worried about the overall stability of the roof during play. either way, i'd rather have my truck parked without a driver than putting in a driver with the said modifications. im OC that way. Ooh, did it work? I'm gonna need to modify mine like that as well. *sweet* Quote
Matn Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 I also usually don't modify my sets, but I did it with my 7900. But I think I'm gonna put him again in its original state, gosh I'm weird... I just put some plates in the cockpit, so the windows and such get higher because the driver couldn't see much (he was sitting higher than the windows). It looks better but... I can't leave it like that :'-) I sure hope they got the Hogwarts Castle that I have hidden away. I'll get hem (after newyear) next Wednesday, but I am trying to get some money of my mom. Quote
