Opproperaar Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 (edited) Come to think of it, I do have just one LEGO Confession When somebody else has been building on a set which was bought for me, I tear it down again as I'm very insistent I get to build it completely all by myself away from other people in all silence. And when I'm building a vehicle, I actually pretend (in my head that is) like I'm a real time contracter working on an important vehicle which needs to be delivired. In which case I follow a modern assembly process. Namely building all the seperate pieces like wings and cockpit and engines apart and only installing them together at the last bit. Gosh, isn't it fun to be physically adult or nearly adult yet have the mind of a four year old? :-P Edited October 20, 2007 by Hairy Ruben Quote
Matn Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Well, my confession:When I buy (or get) a LEGO set I have to build it myself in all silence! I don't want anybody looking over my back to see what I'm doing. And if someone said: "Can I help you?" I just say: "No!" It has been always like this... But I'm trying to get rid of this routine, the first step: buy a set and let my sister make it (a limited airplane, forget setnumber). Hard for me... O, and I ated a brick when I was six years old, not ated, but I was building something and I held that tiny brick in my mouth... And you know the rest... :'-( Oh! And I can stay for 'hours' in the store just to choose witch set I want to buy! It's so difficult to choose! That's it for my confessions. Quote

We and our little quirks :-P Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Oh well... A little odd thing..I sometimes throw with my MOCs before takin them apart... And sometimes, I like to throw LEGO things at my MOCs to see if I can destroy them that way... Ahem.... Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 And sometimes, I like to throw LEGO things at my MOCs to see if I can destroy them that way...Ahem.... I used to do that, but now I get too worried about damaging the bricks. :-$ Quote
TheFrisian Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Try shooting rubber bands at them, less risk of actually damaging the bricks and still the fun of taking apart the MOC ;-) Quote

It's destroy time!! >:-) Quote
Axle Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 3 confessions: 1. I play with the minifigs when I'm in bed. 2.I leave my room in such a state, my bed has Lego bricks on it. 3. If i'm building an MOC I chew on the bricks.(Those 1x1 bricks, no wonder I only have a few, glad I'm not at SirNadroj'shouse when he's mosaic-ing!) Quote
Derek Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 (edited) my confession is that.... Ive never spent more that $50 usd on a lego set. The most expensive set ive bought was the 2006 Slave 1( *wub* ). My LARGEST set, however, is Vladeks dark fortress but i got that for X-mas because it was $50 on Black Friday. :-D DP8 Edited October 21, 2007 by darthperson8 Quote
Mofo Jones Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 I have a couple of common ones: I keep all my boxes and keep the plastic bags from each set in the proper box. I don't know why. I suppose I should get around to recycling them. Every so often, the house must absolutely be patrolled by whatever SW LEGO I have handy at the moment, meaning that some nerd-rage-inducing combos have occurred, such as the 6208 B-Wing with the Batwing. Try making a simultaneous clean landing with both of those craft on the appropriate stands.... X-D Finally, I will make sound effects, in a store, for "fierce" figs or creatures in sets that I haven't yet purchased. Example: Today I saw the Dwarf Mine set for the first time. Had to make the "RRR!!!" noise when I saw the troll. Same goes with any other set I own. Shark? RRR!!. Wyvern Dragon? RRR!! Sea-snake? RRR!! Skeleton Knight? RRR! Jar-Jar Binks? (nope...gotta draw the line somewhere). X-D Quote
M'Kyuun Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 I hate fingerprints on my Lego pieces, so I wear gloves when I handle my Lego stuff. I hate wearing them, but suffer it for the sake of my shiny, unsullied pieces. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I can't argue. Quote

Hey look, it's Spongebob! RRR! Um. Lemme try again ... Hey look, it's that new evil wizard guy! RRR! Well, I'll work on it. ;-) I hate fingerprints on my Lego pieces, so I wear gloves when I handle my Lego stuff. I hate wearing them, but suffer it for the sake of my shiny, unsullied pieces. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I can't argue. This is the post I've been waiting for! Don't get me wrong, I don't do this, never planned to do this, never will do this, wouldn't even consider it. Finally a post that makes all of my confessions feel normal! Thank you so much! X-D Oh, it's not really that bad. Unless you build with gloves on too, then that's just creepy and I'll require pics to verify it *wacko* Quote
Opproperaar Posted October 26, 2007 Posted October 26, 2007 (edited) 3. If i'm building an MOC I chew on the bricks.(Those 1x1 bricks, no wonder I only have a few, glad I'm not at SirNadroj'shouse when he's mosaic-ing!) Wait, chew as in trying to get them to let go of each other? Or actually chewing as in bubblegum chewing? I hate fingerprints on my Lego pieces, so I wear gloves when I handle my Lego stuff. I hate wearing them, but suffer it for the sake of my shiny, unsullied pieces. My wife thinks I'm crazy. I can't argue. You make me and everybody else look normal sir, I applaud to you *y* *y* Ooh, I have another one, I'm 16, yet from time to time can't help but play with LEGO in my bed, :-P Yes I'm an eleventh grader! I leave my bed in such a condition of course, When I play with LEGO I of course do all the sound effects myself, from explosions to water dripping, not that I care if I'm any good at it. And whenever I'm feeling like it's time to wrap up playing time, I end up destroying my MOC in some kind of fiery explosion or disaster. That way I get to have the fun of demoloshing and building at the same time *y* And once I start on a building set, I'm deadset at finishing the model the same day. No matter what time I begin, even if it's eleven o' clock (PM) and it'll take a good hour or two, I need to finish it in one go. Never will I go to bed before a model is finished. Perhaps we ought to make another topic on our everyday quirks. I'd love to see what kind of wackos we have around here. (I would be one myself, I admit it) Edited October 26, 2007 by Hairy Ruben Quote

Mofo Jones Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Ok, I'll put it on the list of Things To Do. However, since I am in law school and finals are fast approaching, this might get shuffled off until December. We'll see whether I can find my headset microphone and some place to post an audio file. Opproperaar Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I like to play with LEGO in the bathtub, yeah I know, well I used too, I haven't done so in at least five years now, but when I get the chance, I'll probably do it again for old time's sake. :-D Too bad the pirate ships always capsized, you could never get them stable enough. :-P Quote
