santaends Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I like this set a lot. When I saw the leaked pictures, I knew I had to get at least two. There's a whole lot to love- 23 dark bluish grey masonry bricks, dark tan, rare reddish brown 1 x 3 tiles, and that wonderful santa. It is a great parts pack- one I could only dream of in the past. Never bought more than 2 of the same sets before, and I have 8 of them. They call it an impulse set- I call it a planned purchase. Here's the MOC. I never used anything other than what was provided, barring the sigfig. The hardest part: Finding enough reddish brown tiles. I used them all. Even the spare 1 x 1. However the 1 x 1 was hidden near the fireplace and near the window, away from view. Part of the good thing of showing MOCs online is hiding things. Ended up with not enough tiles, so put a few plates at the corner and piled up some gifts. The lack of odd numbered regular bricks was also an issue, as I needed to alternate the huge amount of 1 x 2 bricks for a strong build. Hence I placed multiple 1 x 3 whites and 1 x 1 reddish browns in the corners. If you view them from outside it looks like snow has landed. Thanks to the snot window, I had enough bricks saved up for the small ledge indoors. Quote
KlodsBrik Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hehe ... 8 of the same set ? Your build is truely great. Must admit that evey year when winter is approaching, i wish i had more holiday sets to pull of something like this. But i rarely use the pieces except during christmas. Since my budget is tight i always end up spending what i can on PAB´s or sets that i really really wants. Or offcourse if i come by a 50% off sale that would be stupid not to purchase. Anyhow lovely build. One of those chairs with no figs in em, i would surely take my spot if invited. Looks very comfortable Quote

Thank you, glad you liked it :) If only PAB here had more variety.. haha. Whenever we get good things like 2x2 tan tiles, windows, trans clear parts and small plates, they will almost always be swept up. What is left is mostly 2x4 bricks. It is more cost efficient to buy sets this way, than squeeze big bricks into PAB cups. This looks really good! Thank you! :) Quote
