Widdi Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) I've taken some pictures of the Indian Summer in my region. All of the pics were taken at a lake, which was, a gravel quarry ages before now. it developed in the late 30s, when groundwater filled the gravel-pit, which was used for the Munich switching yard. The lake has a nice and clear blue-to dark-green water (depending on the lightning situation and the skies) and is up to 10m deep. The lake and surrounding land was used as a military training area by the US army, from the end of WW II until 1968. Later from 1972 to 1976 it was rebuilt into a recreational area with a seperate biosphere west of the main lake, two restaurants (as of 1998) and beaches almost everywhere around the main Karlsfeld lake. I've got to put the link from a German Weather and Photography forum, since eurobricks doesn't seem to support the 819x614 resolution used in my pictures for this forum. Sorry the text is in german only, but the pictures should mostly explain themselves. BTW: the lake in the town of Karlsfeld near munich is my favourite, smaller (25 hectares) lake around munich. Here it is: http://wettercommunity.foren-city.de/topic...07-17-pics.html Please enjoy, especially the cute pair of ducks in img_1914 and the blue water pictures. mFg Widdi Oops, I've made a typo above. it should not be 7-120-2007, It was 07-10-2007 Edited October 10, 2007 by Widdi Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted October 10, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) These are all beautiful pictures of nature scenes. You seem to have an eye for beauty *y* But why did you add this picture of that ugly, smelly and noisy beast? (Yes, I don't like cars X-D) Edited October 10, 2007 by Bonaparte Quote
Widdi Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 (edited) seems that I was wrong with the non-working pictures, since bonaparte managed to get one of these into his reply. I'll try, too with my two favourite pics out of my report Blue Bayou Indian summer: BTW just look at the water @Bonaparte: I've included it, because I like to show my vehicles used to get to the location of the fotos. I did this a few times with my maj.com-Folders and wettercommunity-picture reports, twice with my bike for sunset photography, or my skis after some cross-country in late january 2007. And finally my car, because I've got my driving license since september 2007 mFg Widdi Edited October 10, 2007 by Widdi Quote
