TAFOL Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 For the "Redesign a set in another theme"-contest at Lowlug.nl I made an Elves-MOC, based on the Ninjago set 70753 Lava Falls. Here's the story behind this MOC: Oh no! The baby dragon Miku just wanted to take a bite at the delicious apple on the other side of the ravine, but then the bridge collapsed! How can he get to the safe side again, without fully grown wings? However, here is Emily Jones, saviour in trouble! Can she manage to get to her friend in time to get him out of his perilous situation? You can view a full set of photos of this MOC on my Brickshelf. En don't forget to like and share this MOC on Facebook Quote
Exetrius Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 You totally nailed it! Even without reading I could immediately tell this was based on 70753 Lava Falls, but well... it looks better! To be fair, 'Elvendale Falls' would have a higher price point than the original, but I don't mind. The tree and waterfall with pool are just lovely! Quote
Aanchir Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Really fantastic! Excellent work on those rocks! You did a fantastic job really capturing the visual language of Elvendale. Quote
OmShanti Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Excellent work! Great detail and I love the little story to go along with it, perfect. I would buy this. P.S. Your brickshelf link says the folder is not yet public. Edited November 22, 2015 by OmShanti Quote
TAFOL Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the kind words, everyone. P.S. Your brickshelf link says the folder is not yet public. Unfortunately, Brickshelf images need to go through moderation first before they become publicly viewable. Hopefully, they'll be online tomorrow or the day after that. gamejutzu Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Now that I'm seeing this, I wish the Lava Falls set did this, with the more detailed rocks and such. I wouldn't mind the price being a bit higher for that. Quote

I wasn't aware of that. The folder is available now. I'd love to see this available for purchase as an actual Elves set. Edited November 24, 2015 by OmShanti Quote
Velouria Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Love those drawbridge thingies. Lovely MOC, very much in the spirit of the theme Quote
Iria Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Awesome redesign! The set looks much more interesting now. The rockwork and the little waterfall coming out of it are wonderful additions. Nicely done! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Gorgeous! Exquisite job transitioning the Ninjago set into Elven form! For a split second I will admit I thought this was an actual set before I realized what it was! You successfully capture the form and function of the original set, while convincingly emulating the Elves' aesthetic! The azure waterfall is a delightful touch that really sells the Elves feel. And the build's flavor text is spot on too. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
gamejutzu Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Heh, Cole gets smh in the sets, always in the cheapest one. I tried upgrading the lava falls when I got it to make it more normal, and despite mu teribleness with rockwork, it still looked okay. I don't see why more pieces were added. y u du dis LEGO? TAFOL Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Thank you all for the amazing feedback. I'm astounded by the amount of positive comments this MOC has generated. Again, thank you very much. Quote
SWNELoveAngel Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 That's a very nice idea to add to the Lego Elves' Elvendale landscape. I just recently had bought two of the Treetop Hideaway [working on combining them into making the Treetop Hideaway look more like how it appears in the mini movies and webisodes], and when I came across a picture of what you built, now it gives me an idea what to do with the original way that they had intended to have the bridge pieces [although, I'll have to order some extras of those, since I put the 5 pieces from each set together into making a longer bridge to a deck platform in the back [minus the axle that would have 'supported' them]. And in the two-part movie "Dragons In Danger To Save", there's a long rope bridge seen ---- so that might be something else to build [eventually], too. Just part of the fun of Lego right? Plenty of ideas and inspiration to build with. Quote
Euphorine Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 this is so cute. I like the bridge ! This is very elves Quote
Velouria Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Love this one, because it is relatively small. This is something the LEGO company would actually sell as a set: affordable and fun. Quote
Junior Shark Posted March 30, 2016 Posted March 30, 2016 Awesome! The rockwork and vegetation is very well done. Quote
