DarkShadow73 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I know that many have added a boom section to the brilliant 42042 Crane. I am wondering is there enough parts left over, what I mean is the blue assembly that the claws are holding, to construct another piece to add to the boom to make even longer, and higher? Thanks, Eric Quote
bonox Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 you can put the second section in the A model. I believe the loose frame parts are used in the B model. http://www.techlug.fr/review-lego-technic/42042/grue-treillis-sur-chenilles-42042-michael-jeppesen-2015 Quote
JohnBS Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Yes, no problem in adding the spare ("load") boom section, or in fact making further sections, though you will need longer string for the hoist cable. John Quote
P3_Super_Bee Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) I know that many have added a boom section to the brilliant 42042 Crane. Thanks, Eric The section of boom you are referring to in the claws.(in Lego photos) Is actually designed to be added into the crane boom. Quick disconnect style. And if this is the only "extension" used, a longer string is NOT needed. I was designed to have this piece installed as an option. Watch the Designer Video, they actually show this feature.
