I know that many have added a boom section to the brilliant 42042 Crane. I am wondering is there enough parts left over, what I mean is the blue assembly that the claws are holding, to construct another piece to add to the boom to make even longer, and higher?

Thanks, Eric

Yes, no problem in adding the spare ("load") boom section, or in fact making further sections, though you will need longer string for the hoist cable.

The section of boom you are referring to in the claws.(in Lego photos) Is actually designed to be added into the crane boom. Quick disconnect style. And if this is the only "extension" used, a longer string is NOT needed. I was designed to have this piece installed as an option. Watch the Designer Video, they actually show this feature.
