HorcikDesigns Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Hi, I have decieded to join the Lego Technic trophy truck madness with my own design (well, the front fenders are inspired by RM8's TT, to be honest ) But the rest is mine. Powered by one Li-Po BB, driven by one 5292 mounted on the rear axle, and servo for steering, this beast is not very strong. However, it can run satisfyingly fast - as you can see in the vid. I woul like to highlight the hood with pins that act like locks. (I do not know the right name for that securing device) (third picture) BAJA Truck by Horcik Designs, on Flickr Quote
MaxSupercars Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Nice TT... I have seen it already on YT... I'm also mad in TT... :D Good work... :) Max... Quote
Jurss Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Nice. Only IR reciever could be better integrated/hidden. Quote
MaxSupercars Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Today published: BJ Baldwin's #RECOIL 3 !!! Max... :* Edited November 10, 2015 by MaxSupercars Quote
agrof Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Hi, I follow your work for a while, I really like them, this is also not an exception. I love the design, it is so cute and mean in the same time, the color combination is also a hit. Not to mention that hood solution. Driving performance is really good, and I am really surprised that You could integrate Nyan cat too (sound). I can't get out an idea from my head... This + 2 pull back motors (4WD if possible) = the ultimate jump-fun machine in the living room. Edited November 10, 2015 by agrof Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 Thank you very much! I know, the IR reciever is not in it's best position, but here it has much better recieving capability :D I have been theoretically playing with the idea of pull-back boost idea, but still haven't built anything. :) Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Well done, really love the colors and the shapes of this very nice build... It is pretty fast and performs good too... Quote
Chade Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I never heard of Baja trucks until I joined this forum, now they're everywhere! Lovely build with nice lines, and I really like the lime green and white colour combination. It would be great to hide the IR receiver, but I know that can be tricky. Quote
GoldVillage Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 What a nice looking beast! looks like a RC and not like lego btw how does the small gears in the diff hold up with such big tires and torque? Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) Thank you. @GoldVillage: they hold up very well - the output to big tires is geared down, so there weren't any critical moments, due to the material strenght. However, the testing-terrain was quite flat, so I have not the chance to take it to it's limit :D Edited February 8, 2016 by Gzzig Quote
