Backgild Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 (edited) I love the looks of the leaked Resistance ship, and I couldn't wait until January to get my hands on it, so I decided to create a miniature scale version of the ship to accompany my mini X-Wing. I'm planning to wait until we get more information before ordering the elements to build this, so these images were rendered with BlueRender. This is my first experience with BlueRender, and I am very impressed with the results given the rendering time. The Force Awakens Resistance Transport I believe that the details at the front of the ship represent a loading ramp, so here is the ramp deployed. Obviously, there isn't room for a real interior, but I've attempted to leave a bit of a cavity to represent the troop compartment. The Force Awakens Resistance Transport The rear of the ship is almost a pure guess, but there is a rounded feature behind the cockpit that I've assumed is the engine. I've added a second identical engine pod on the opposite side for symmetry. The Force Awakens Resistance Transport If we use the sets as our scale reference, this is about twice as large as it should be relative to the X-Wing, but scale with Lego is always a bit misleading. Here is a quick shot of the vessel flanked by a four ship of X-Wings. Fighter Escort As always, I'd appreciate comments/criticism. I would especially welcome thoughts for improvement. Comes with a couple Resistance troopers with the flip-up helmets like the 6" Black Series Resistance Trooper has, plus a certain coffee-loving Mon Calamari and General Organa herself. Quote

Backgild Posted October 30, 2015 Author Posted October 30, 2015 Thank you all for your kind words, I really appreciate all of the comments. I'm sure I'll have some edits to make once we see the final version for the film, but that might not be until December at this point. I think we have seen most of the First Order ships from various sources, but they seem to be keeping the Resistance ships under wraps, with the obvious exception of the X-wing. I expect that we'll see a least one capital ship type in the movie, but I'm really curious how many different ship types that the Resistance will use. As a final note, I want to share this image that I put together while playing around in LDD... ABC ? ...surely they wouldn't use that naming convention, right? Quote
