Greetings,

I have been scouring the boards trying to find a design that fits well for my double stack well cars that Im building. The freight cars are 8 wide and I am struggling to figure out a way to attach bogies in between the connected cars and/as well as the end cars that have couplers. I was unable to take pictures of my builds in progress this morning, rushing out the door to work. I will post these later this evening.

My build is greatly credited to and I have been using pictures of his awesome well cars to build my own. I don't take credit for the majority of my builds design ( Here is the page with all the pics ) http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/4069

Here are the pictures that I have been using to build mine off of...

I liked it for those models but would like to use the "Jacobs Bogie" style for my 8 wide models. Its just more detailed and I like it. I built several jacobs bogies but am struggling to have them attach to the train cars. Thanks in advance for the feedback Im looking forward to finishing my build this weekend.

* I apologize to the moderators if the images are to big or incorrect. I could not find BBCode for them but did add the links below pics.

Hi, im not very expert in lego trains, but i have designed this bogie that works with 2 cars, also i dont remember who designed the sliding wheels:

You can attach those bogies to Technic plates (with holes) at the end of the car. I use tan pin to axle connector instead of a 2L axle for my MPM train. It keeps the bogie from falling off when I lift the unit off the rails.

A few years ago I made two 7-stud wide articulated double-stack well cars, one a Gunderson 3-unit car and the other one was a TTX 5-unit car. I made instructions only for the Gunderson car since the TTX was basically the same only simpler. I tried to upload them to the Railbricks site but that site seems to be in limbo now so I uploaded to Bricksafe instead: http://bricksafe.com...ntainer Car.pdf

Thanks to LEGO's tight curves, I had to cheat on the Jacobs bogies. Instead of having a single pivot on the center of the bogie on which both cars are articulated, each car has a separate pivot near it's end of the bogie. The end bogies are articulated in the same manner so they can cope with the tight curves. They should pivot under extensions of the car frame. While this is not prototypical it has the unexpected benefit of making it easier to go from 1-unit to 5-unit since each unit is the same.

Hope this can be helpful.
