One of my favorite LEGO themes of all time is the Time Cruisers. Not only is the concept of time travel great for playing and imagination, but the minifigures were awesome. Dr. Cyber and Timmy are really cool because they have cartoon- like eyes. Timmy even has a nose! This is important to me because when naming the minifigures they are the easiest to tell apart from the others. And if the minifigures weren't cool enough- there is even a monkey named Ingo!! Ingo makes the set complete.

The part where LEGO missed out was by not having crossover appearances by the Time Cruisers in other popular themes of the period like Castle and Pirates. The Hypno Cruiser came with several hats that suggested adventures in those time periods.

The Time Cruisers were extremely popular in Germany. Perhaps if LEGO had marketed the Time Cruisers with crossovers they would have still been around when the Adventurers came out. I would have loved to have seen a crossover with Johnny Thunder. There has been some speculation online that Dr. Cyber and Dr. Kilroy are related. Thoughts?

A true Lego historian can correct me if im wrong.. But I do believe the Time Cruisers theme was developed in an attempt to get rid of the enormous diversity in parts that were used by Lego designers at the time. I think the focus was more on regaining control of the design process rather than exploring all its creative potential.

Your suggestion of these crossovers is a neat one. Crossovers were a rarity among Lego themes until the Lego Movie and Lego Dimensions came along.

That's an urban myth. Some of the pieces in those sets only appeared in those sets

TC/TT is more like ideas from IDEA books turned into actual sets ..
