If so, why? Is there some weird split in the community for petty arguments? Or is there so other factors at play, like officiality/non-officiality?

I am talking about lego.wikia.com and brickimedia.org if you wonder.

I know someone who would be better at explaining this, but I'm just gonna go off memory.

I was originally a member of lego.wikia.com which was called Brickipedia. Was there for a few years, and from what I recall we didn't really like the rules Wikia had or one of the staff members. At some point a giant group of us decided to merge to a new site, Brickimedia. I don't go on the wiki any more, though. I'm kind of surprised some of the people I talked to on there (from 2012) still go on it. That's about it.
