Burf2000 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 So as a safety thing at work, we are encouraging people not to use their phone while driving. So I built this simulator I hope to improve it but the cause is a good one :) Quote
quilkin Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Excellent. Must be the most useful lego 'car' I've seen. Easy improvement: replace the brick obstacles with car & bike models Difficult improvement: make the obstacles appear at random times! Quote
Burf2000 Posted October 11, 2015 Author Posted October 11, 2015 Very good ideas, the first version the track was divided in to 2 parts and so it could move at different speeds, it makes the game very very hard! Quote
dr_spock Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Does it make a difference if you used a Bluetooth headset or hands free speaker? Quote
Burf2000 Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 I dont detect that yet, their is a switch under the phone and so if you don't pick it up you wont crash :) Quote
JJ2 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Perfect! Just one thing. can you make 2 going on way and 2 going the other and have random car going the wrong way? Quote
Kristof Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Very original build :D My objection would go to that steering wheel which doesn't resemble car very much :D More of some spaceship. Quote
Captainowie Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I dont detect that yet, their is a switch under the phone and so if you don't pick it up you wont crash :) I don't understand - how does picking up the phone make you crash? Does that switch disable the link between the steering wheel and the car? If so, that's not a very fair demonstration of the difficulties of concentrating on two different complex things at the same time. If not, what does the switch under the phone control? Does the road go faster when the phone is picked up? Owen. Quote
Kristof Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 So should I make a round one? Haha, I don't think it's quite necessary. Quote

In simple terms as soon as you pick up the phone, the game speeds up, then over time (if you survive the initial speed up) the steering will be less responsive Quote
