Pego Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hello! I made a simple trial truck chassis. I will build a Suzuki Samurai body for it (probably black and without the rear roof part). Functions: - 4x4 (L motor) - Steering (Servo) - Live axles The battery box is mounted on the rear axle The live axles has a panhard rod in the rear and a 5l suspension piece in the front to keep them aligned The gear ratio is about 1:4.6 Quote
Imanol BB Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 seems good so far, i like how compact and robust it seems, you made an excellent work, looking forward for more updates. Quote
piterx Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 i can see some serious awesomeness going on here :) i hope the body will be cool! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Nice and small, will do great! Quote
JJ2 Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 This is very compact! You are a master on making small stuff like this  But on thing, is it possible to put the SBrick in the front? it seems a little empty. Quote
__________________________ Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Small cars make me so happy, good luck with the model! At camp nearly every house has one of these. I am sure you have double checked dimensions but it seems the battery box, servo, etc. reach too high into the cabin, but without using custom parts this may be inevitable at this scale. Quote
Pego Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Thanks everybody :) i can see some serious awesomeness going on here :) i hope the body will be cool! Don't have too high hopes on the body, I'm not that good on them yet :) This is very compact! I'll move the Sbrick into the cabin when I get that done Small cars make me so happy, good luck with the model! At camp nearly every house has one of these. Everything should fit in the cabin pretty nicely, there is little room for an interior though, probably only a steering wheel. Edited October 13, 2015 by Pego Quote
Pego Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Here's what I've come up with: I'd like to make the fenders out of flex axles, but they are pretty fragile and hard to mount in the front Quote
JJ2 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Lookin good! I really like the way the rear "mudguards" are mounted. Quote
Pego Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) The body is finished now, and I'm pretty happy with it. It has been a lot of fun to drive, because it is so robust that you don't have to repair anything. Also, servo steering with Sbrick is really nice Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr Lego Suzuki Samurai by Pego's Legos, on Flickr And here is a short test: (WIP) Edited October 15, 2015 by Pego Quote
