Technic Jim Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hello all, Just yesterday I was trying to build a camera vehicle to assist the filming in one of my new MOCs and was using an XL motor as propulsion. It was working fine until suddenly it stopped working. I went over to it and saw that the battery box was still on so that wasn't the problem. Everything was still in the right place so I figured that it was the motor that was the problem. So I went to the wire in the back and pushed it and the motor started working again. However, when I stopped applying pressure to the wire it stopped working. Is there any help or advice about what to do about this anyone could help give. It would be very well appreciated Cheers, Jim Quote
Gnac Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I had an identical problem with a Servo Motor a little while back (pushing the wire in the back made it reapeatedly initialise with that little electric squeak). I emailed Customer Services and described the problem in detail. About two days later, expecting a standard reply, they instead sent me a LEGO Shop invoice for a new Servo Motor (priced at £0.00p!). Out of courtesy I asked if they needed the old one back, and I was told that wasn't necessary. Quote
JJ2 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I have the same problem with a servo motor. I have learned to use a piece to hold down the wire so the motor works. Quote
syclone Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 1-contact Customer Service 2-if the motor is not necessary for CS repair it like this: Quote
flyboy01 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I had the same problem with my m-motor, but all they did was send me new ones! I don't know if they're gonna do anything about. i hope they do! Quote
doug72 Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 This seems to be a common problem with PF motor leads breaking at the point where the ribbon cable enters to motor housing. I now try not to flex this section of cable when possible. I have had it happen on M & XL motors. A redesign by Lego is required to prevent this. Quote
