How would you do it?

Here's YET another question of mine. When I get the 60117 Van Caravan next year (I can't wait!) I would like to mod the van to make it seem more like an actual minivan, such as a Dodge Caravan, Dodge Grand Caravan, or Chrysler Town & Country. However, I don't know how to make the sliding car doors without using the sliding door configuration in one of the Creator houses. So could you guys please help me?

Use some droid arms, modified 1x2 plates with bars, and some lightsaber blade pieces to make the doors. If you get it all together right, you'll be able to pull the doors open and slide them back.

Thanks! However, could you please tell me how to do the doors more ''in depth''? I'm actually first trying this in LDD, and the door is still not sliding.

Sorry, but I haven't tried this myself. I remember there was a Eurobrick topic a while back where someone did it, but I can't find it. And in LDD it's easier to place the door and use the hinge align tool to find the proper place to attach it, there's no correct method.

Search for buses or maybe trains. They often have them like Dino describes. I know there has been some vans with doors as well. I think Ralph S (Mad physicist) made one in minifig scale.

I think the method described above was used in some of the official airoplane sets:

7894 - Airport

7893 - Passenger Plane

3182 - Airport

60022 - Cargo Terminal

These use the airoplane doors but I think I have seen it in the train forum with MOCed doors.

There are many ways to do it. I did this a day shy of exactly 4 years ago. It's a droid arm clipped to the door and antenna on jump plate.
