der seb Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 You will notice that it looks incomplete, like there is something missing. Here Quote
Holodoc Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Thank you dunamis for your excellent work and for putting so much time in it! *wub* My MF is still packed and sealed and I Quote
Lasse D Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I finally finished mine as well. When it was done I was missing 2 pieces and had 6 large ones too many. After checking the instructions again I found that they were all wrongly placed, so I was clearly too tired when building. In the end all pieces were there. I think I should share what I learned with all of you: - Do not build the falcon in the middle of the night after coming home from a party. You will not only make a lot of mistakes, it will also take a very long time to build (it took me more than 9 hours!) - Do not build this gray model on a gray carpet. - If you attempt to build it on a gray carpet (like I did) and have household pets it is a good idea to clean the carpet before building. My falcon appears to be furry as it is right now. All in all I think this is a fine LEGO model... even though it cost me $874. Let me repeat it for all Americans who think $500 is too expensive: In the homeland of LEGO this set costs 4699kr = $874. Not only is it expensive. I'm also certain we got a late batch with serial numbers of 7000+... and no extra bags of wing pieces. Now. What is up with the extra minifig head in the set? Quote
dunamis Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 hmmm, what you have left overs don't exactly match mine. i don't have a 2x3 brick, or that many 2x2 tiles (only 2 dark bley). and no wrong plates issue, just missing a 1x1x2/3 cheese tile. what is your set number? I built my #785 set. like to see if the error is somehow related to a particular sequence. I'm 938. That's an interesting theory. I'd like to know if there is any correlation. I suspect the certificates were inserted randomly instead of sequentially, but who knows... Quote
mechamike Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I'm also certain we got a late batch with serial numbers of 7000+... and no extra bags of wing pieces. Well, I live in Sweden, and I got +7000 aswell.. :'-( ((no extra wings) ordered a few hours after it was possible on S@H) so the "randomness" of the certificates is something I highly doubt.. Never came a cross a low nr in Scandinavia or Europe.. has anyone ? Quote
natelite Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I'm 938. That's an interesting theory. I'd like to know if there is any correlation. I suspect the certificates were inserted randomly instead of sequentially, but who knows... well, i'm sure they aren't randomly inserted. europe's numbers were all 5k+ and all without the extra bag of slopes. i think the distribution was "randomized" not the production phase. Quote
dunamis Posted October 23, 2007 Author Posted October 23, 2007 well, i'm sure they aren't randomly inserted. europe's numbers were all 5k+ and all without the extra bag of slopes. i think the distribution was "randomized" not the production phase. Ah, yes I see what you are saying now. Quote

Holodoc Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 g....you bought one too? 800 euro spent on a MF? i thought this was sw-freaks-only kinda set, apparently i was wrong... :-$ Besides it was ONLY 550 Quote
Siegfried Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Thanks for this great review! *wub* I'll buy mine when it goes half price! :-D (Well the Death Star did! :-| ) Quote
iamded Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 The MF coming to New Zealand will get here soon... plus a year. Yep, about this time next year. And my good friend dragonater is planning on getting one, if I'm not mistaken. Expect high numbers. :-D ~Peace Quote
Cabby Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 Thanks for the nice review! Was quite an effort :-) Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 I can't stop looking at the finished version of that thing! *wub* Thanks Dunamis for the great review! I too live in the US, and even though the price is high, in the words of Jar-Jar Binks, "meesa gotta get this!" :-P So, thanks for the review. Quote
der seb Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 in the words of Jar-Jar Binks, "meesa gotta get this!" If you want a Limited First Edition you should order it soon. It seems like TLC already sells MFs of Second Run. Quote
legolover100 Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I love this set! it is some of legos finest work!!! oh and just an teeny tiny question does this set include some seats and a chess board? if it does could i have a pic a them ;-) if it does not then this set is not as amazing as i thought Quote
jamie75 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 No Dejarik board or seats. The only interior is the cockpit and gunner station, nothing else. And there is not much there at that! The cockpit is just 4 seats and a couple of computers. The gunners station is just a seat and steering wheel. Cockpit. No actual seat here, just 4 spaces for the figs. They sit on the 1 x 2 plates with one stud and behind the 1 x 2 triple slopes. Gunner station. See the brown seat and steering wheel, that is it! It is in them middle of the frame. Jamie Quote

Johnny 5 Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 This review made my day. Thank you soo very much!!!! I'm not a Star Wars freak but you have convinced me to get one. Now how to find $500... Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I am currently building my Falcon, but on the first thing on the front, somethings wrong! I've checked the book a million times and I can't find the error; the 'bent' piece won't attach to the technic beams. Can someone help me? Quote
jamie75 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 I am currently building my Falcon, but on the first thing on the front, somethings wrong! I've checked the book a million times and I can't find the error; the 'bent' piece won't attach to the technic beams. Can someone help me? Could you be a little specific. a page number, a pic. Something, first thing on the front is vague. Are you talking about the lights on the front of the ship? Jamie Quote
Cyclone Titan Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Actually, I fixed it, see the problem was the beams that connect the 'bent' looking part with the actual Falcon. They were not long enough to get on the big 'bent' part. But in truth, the problem was with how many studs the 'bent' part had, as it had more studs then needed, so I fixed that. I did the second 'bent part too, now im on the bottom stuff with a hole in it. And right before I was about to do that the part on the bottom of the back collapsed, whopdeedee. Quote
Iced Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I can't wait to start putting mine together X-D Quote
Thee Pirate Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 i thought this was sw-freaks-only kinda set, apparently i was wrong... :-$ I have my heart set on this being the next Lego set I buy, and since I'm primarily a Pirates kind of guy, I justify it because Han Solo was a space pirate of sorts, right? I don't mind watching Star Wars, but I'm certainly no "SW Freak" Quote
