The report that Osric had received led him deep into the Mountains of Mitgardia. He was eventually forced to leave his horse behind as he continued through several steep and narrow stretches through Odin’s Pass. As he began to get closer to where Cain and Jace claimed the sorcerer was hiding out, he saw a towering figure in black armor standing on a bridge with an enormous flail and shield. The man spoke in a raspy voice, “No one is to cross. Turn around the way you came.”

“I seek the sorcerer and enchanter Daemeon. He has led attacks on the land I serve and I’ve come to bring him to justice,” Osric answered.

The man laughed, and replied, “You’re welcome to try to bring him to justice, but you’ll have to bring me in first!” With that the man began to swing the flail around his head. Osric trusted his skills in battle, but the man looked to be impenetrable. The massive man was swinging the large flail with such force that he had no chance of blocking a blow, as it would send him falling to his death over the narrow bridge.

The man’s armor was too heavy, and his shield too large to have a chance at penetrating, should he get past the flail. Maybe, he thought, if I can get him off balance I can get him to fall over the bridge. As he approached the man he studied the flail and paid attention to the timing of his swing. When he got just close enough, he waited for the flail to go by before he lunged forward. The man tried to bring the flail down on him with all his might, shattering the bridge timbers below. Osric got by just in time to throw his shoulder into the man’s stomach. The blow, combined with his swing shifted his weight awkwardly, and the man stumbled backwards a step. Osric swung left and then right for the man’s helm. While the blows did not penetrate the armor, the disoriented the man, and his next step backwards was slightly sideways, and the man’s leg was against the low rail on the bridge. Osric kicked the man in the stomach with all his strength, with caused the man to stumble once again. However, when he tried to take a step backwards to regain his balance, his foot struck the solid rail, and he tipped over the rail backwards. Osric watched him fall until he passed through a thick fog that hung over the mountains, and a few seconds later he heard a loud clang as the man struck the rock below.

Osric stopped a few minutes on the bridge to meditate before continuing. He expected the massive man to be Daemeon’s last defense, and that he would find the sorcerer very soon. Osric pulled the dispelling potion that he received form Gregor from his pack and applied it to his blade. He remembered all he had gone through to get to his point, and felt the feeling once again that he was being guided. He stood once again and continued across the bridge with a confidence he had never felt before. He somehow knew he could not fail at his task.

Everytime I try to do a Mitgardia build, I seriously overestimate my supply of white pieces. I would have preferred more snow in this build, but ran out of appropriate pieces. I hope you enjoy it anyway. Thanks for looking!

Innovative use of parts for the flail. I don't think I would've thought of that. Nice build but I am agreeing with Windusky, you tell a good story sir.

Really cool mountain pass, I like how you have the rock sections each form their own base and only are connected by the bridge

The stairs leading up to the path across the bridge are a nice touch as well :classic:

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm glad you liked the flail design, feel free to use it. I actually used it earlier in my CMF series. And I'm glad some of you are enjoying the story. Hopefully I'll get the next chapter figured out soon, but since it's the climax of the story, I might take a little longer on it.
