SirNadroj Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Hello yet again! *sweet* Here is my latest latest Indy vig! It is the scene where Dr. Jones Senior scares the seagulls into the german fighter. The seagulls were espeically hard to make, and getting them to look like they are in flight was equally difficult! As you can see, I only made the cockpit portion of the fighter, and I also gave Dr. Jones a different hat. At least its the right colour, I guess! ;-) I guess this could be called a 'double-vig' since its twice as big (8 x 16)! Feedback is appreciated, and here's the MOC page: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/38013 Thanks! :-) Quote
jifel Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 very funny! priceless expression on the pilots face, keep up the awsome vigs jifel Quote
Chuck Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 (edited) The idea is nice, but I think the seagulls, pilot, and plane all need a lot of work. The flying seagulls are barely recognizable as birds, the pilot doesn't look very WWIIish, and the plane is WAY too tall. -Chuck Edited September 23, 2007 by Chuck Quote

Seagulls are vicariously small compared to minifigures and are very hard to make. The pilot looks good to me, and last I checked, the german fighter wasn't a bi-plane, it was a bigger, bulkier , more heavily armed plane. Am I right, somebody who remembers more vividly than I? Have you even seen the movie? Can someone help me out here? It was a big fighter, not a bi-plane, right? Edited September 23, 2007 by SirNadroj Quote
jifel Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 i saw it recently and i think it was a more heavily armed plane not a bi-plane, or maybe im thinking of something else jifel Quote

I'm either going crazy and seeing things (which is a possibility! ;-) ), or somebody has not seen the last crusade and is commenting based on absolutely no knowlege of the topic! :-P Quote
jifel Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 the last crusade is the one with the holy grail, right?cause i remember the seagulls crashing the plane jifel Quote

I know that it is not a biplane :-| -Chuck Quote

As for everyone else, thanks very much! *sweet* It is people like you who make me want to continue this line of vigs. *y* I certainly wouldn't continue if, well, you know! |-/ Edited September 23, 2007 by SirNadroj Quote

Batbrick Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Another great Indy Vig Sir Nadroj. I really appreciate this one because of your experimentation with it. The seagulls I think would look better if you made more of them ;-) . Sorry but I don't like Henry's hat. The plane is fine, trust me, I am really into planes, my dad owns one. People underestimate the size of those things! Welldone, you are getting better at these, no doubt next time you do something like this again you will do it even better! *sweet* Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote

Batbrick Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 Thanks! *sweet* (I don't like Henry's hat either! ;-) ) ______________ I'm trying to think of an alternative to suggest...... The only thing that comes to mind is Dr Kilroy's pithe helmet from the adventurers line. It doesn't really look like his hat but I think it would suit the character ;-) Are you going to do anymore SirNadroj? If so, may I suggest you do a temple of doom one, the Club Obiwan poison glass scene MUST be done! Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Scouty Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 You know, Dr. Snr. Jones really isn't in the best position, he's going to blow up with that plane ;-) . :-P Good moc, seagulls need work though, but I think the plane is good. Quote
iamded Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Did I not comment on this?? X-O Great job, the seagulls look a bit strange, but they'd be fine if you added another brick or two, give them a bit of body. You've reproduced the scene well, the plane's not bad, and it's really cool how you've managed to get those birds up in the air! *y* *y* Quote
LuxorV Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I like your vig very much, and I think the plane fits in well. As for the seagulls, I think your solution is very good (I would have never thought to built them that way ;-) ) and very scenographic 8- Quote
