Sir Wolf Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Hello, my name is Wolf. I grew up building with LEGO, I had basically a room full of them, but then I moved out from home and lost my LEGOs. Years later I found that my colleague was also in to LEGO, but LEGO Technic, which was new to me. I decided to give it a go with 8288 (the red crawler crane), and Loved it! I then started tinkering more with LEGO technic expanding the crane, and seeing if I could motorize it, but it ended up as one of those things that I'd take out and poke at when I had a spare minute or two, but never really resulted in anything. I signed up now because of TC8. I love cranes of all sorts! For TC8 I'll build a.. Well you'll have to wait for me to post my official topic on it. In addition to technic, I'm in to Lego Star Wars - I'm collecting all AT-AT models (have only one big left, and a few of the tiny ones). I modified my . The SBrick is great, but the 10178 is not great at walking. I might do something about that later.Last Christmas I got my very own EV3. So far I've built a standard track3r (okay, I modified it a bit), but I run with the Open Source ev3dev, so that I can code my robot in a real programming language (for the moment it means C++, it might change in the future). I really love to combine my coding hobby with my LEGO hobby! I recently started also collecting some City LEGO, specifically the arctic series, after my wife surprised me with a 60034 Arctic Helicrane set one afternoon! You got to love those huskies! Anyways, that's enough of me. I hope I'm going to have fun here and will try to share some of my projects I'm working on, and TC8, what a great challenge! Quote

Sir Wolf Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Welcome to Eurobricks. Good luck with TC8. Thanks! I hope all will go according to my plan! Hi there! Well, hello! Hi Sir Wolf, from a fellow newbie! I'm thinking of also buying the EV3 so I can build a robot to chase my cat about. Haha! That sounds dangerous ... for the EV3 But yeah the EV3 is probably my favourite LEGO brick. If you do get the EV3, also get yourself a rechargeable battery an charger for it, otherwise you end up buying so many batteries... Or else use rechargeable... But the EV3 battery is totally worth it. Quote
