iamded Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 (edited) So, Bleighdzes from Xevolution pointed this out. Thought I should post it here. Brickshelf folder here. Made by Chiukeung. EDIT: I just noticed this is the guy who made the mini Cafe Corner MOC. EDIT AGAIN: And they entered the Golden C3PO contest, and won a plated C-3P0. Is this by any chance a member of Eurobricks? iamded Posted September 22, 2007 Author Posted September 22, 2007 No, they don't transform, but with the amount of detail put into it, it doesn't really matter. I'd reccomend taking a look at some of the other creations too, they're awesome! Quote
Siegfried Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Ignoring the fact that I hate the new designs, they are excellent work and really look like the movie versions. *wub* (The blue looks odd in that photo... *wacko*) Since there is no way the movie ones could transform either it isn't that surprising that they can't transform. :-P Brickfrenzy did a version of Blackout that does transform, but it doesn't look much like the movie version in robot form because of it. No, Adrian said he didn't want to do the exact model from the movie, not because of the transformation process :-| -Chuck Quote

You keep doing it and i'm fed up with telling you about it. The reason for this you have given isn't good enough, you should know better. My patience is running thin with members who do things like this, theres only so many times i will tell those before i ban them. Quote
Siegfried Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 No, Adrian said he didn't want to do the exact model from the movie, not because of the transformation process :-| -Chuck I think you have got me wrong. What I meant was that IMHO, because it is a Lego model that can transform it cannot look the same as the movies versions look in robot form. I don't think it is possible due to the deliberate complicated transformation - even Hasbro found it hard to make the toys resemble the movie versions. I was not in any way saying that I know why Brickfrenzy/Adrian did his excellent model the way that he did, it was just an opinion. Sorry for any confusion. Quote

Oh, I thought you were talking about the face! I think that due to the fact of how many parts are moving around in the movie, It would be pretty impossible to build a part for part, accurate model of the movie transformer that can actually transform. It was my mistake. -Chuck Quote

Let me just say that sometimes I feel like that if I know something, someone else knows it too :-/ My mistake!-Chuck Sorry, we have cross posted as I took too long to write the post! :-$ I should have been clearer with what I meant. I think you thought I was saying why he did it the way he did when I was not. While I did read his site, it was weeks ago. I was just saying what I felt was possible with Lego, and I don't think it is possible to have a Movie Transformer that looks as good as the ones in the first post that transform as well as Brickfrenzy's does. In fact, I have seen a few good looking movie Tranformers, but I don't think I have seen any that transform. Has anyone seen one that I missed? Oh, I thought you were talking about the face! I think that due to the fact of how many parts are moving around in the movie, It would be pretty impossible to build a part for part, accurate model of the movie transformer that can actually transform. I agree. As I said, even the Hasbro ones don't work the same. Quote

Brainbox Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Brickfrenzy did a version of Blackout that does transform, but it doesn't look much like the movie version in robot form because of it. No, but it looks like the toy. I don't think it is possible due to the deliberate complicated transformation - even Hasbro found it hard to make the toys resemble the movie versions. I dunno, they're pretty close from a skewed perspective. Sure, the toys aren't as 'shard-y' but they're all passable. Well, all except the Legends class, which are likable for a different reason. Anyway, back to the MOCs. They're all pretty amazing. Ironhide would probably look better wihout the stand, but I suppose he's probably a little top-heavy in 'real-life' so that'll pass. Bumblebee looks nice, and Prime's pretty cool too. That Flikr one just posted is quite good (understatement) too. Sigh, I want to try this now... Quote
Asuka Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Beautiful and very cool looking MOCs. Impressive indeed. *sweet* Quote
Siegfried Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 This? That one is pretty good. I saw that a few months ago. No, but it looks like the toy. I think I recall that was what he was going for, but since I haven't seen the toy I'll take your word for it. I dunno, they're pretty close from a skewed perspective. Sure, the toys aren't as 'shard-y' but they're all passable. I agree. Hasbro have done a stunning job. I wish I liked the new design more as they are on sale in my town. :-P Quote
Brainbox Posted September 24, 2007 Posted September 24, 2007 I think I recall that was what he was going for, but since I haven't seen the toy I'll take your word for it. There's a picture gallery here. Save for the colour, it's quite acurate. But I think we can let the colour issue pass, seeing as how it'd be Sand Blue, a colour we don't exactly have a lot of. I agree. Hasbro have done a stunning job. I wish I liked the new design more as they are on sale in my town. Which ones might I ask. Because all I can find are Arcees, Dreadwings and the odd '08 BB, which I bought the other week. Oh, and there was a Voyager Megs as well, but I don't really like the figure. Bonecrusher and the Wave 2 Legends (Prime, Megs, Screamer and Blackout) figs are the ones I want, but I can't seem to find any of them. |-/ Oh, and that last quote you used, wasn't that mine? Because it's credited to Chuck. No biggie, I just thought I'd point it out. Quote

I've been to that site before and I should have thought to check it out myself. :-$ Indeed; he did do a good job. That toy is great too. Hasbro have some very talented designers. Which ones might I ask. Bumblebee I recall was one, and it was around a third off. But I am from Australia... Oh, and that last quote you used, wasn't that mine? Because it's credited to Chuck. Brainbox Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Hasbro have some very talented designers. All they need to do now is sort out their distribution, especially to the UK... Bumblebee I recall was one, and it was around a third off. But I am from Australia... I was just wondering if availability is as bad on the other side of the world. That said though, TRU weren't doing too bad the other week. It's my birthday next Tuesday, so I might see if I can find time to go and look in mine after then. Ooops. :-$ My appoligies. I did that post just before bed and I should have taken greater care. I have fixed it now. I considered miscrediting this quote in return, but then thought better of it. :-D ;-) Quote
