Danorak81 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Hi guys, I have done a search, but may have over-looked the answer so apologies if this has been answered before. Being a recent 'noob' to the site, I've been flying the Lego flag for years on my own and as such, have little to no idea what a lot of the acronyms stand for, or indeed, what they are. Would you guys and gals be good enough to fill me in? Everything you know (I believe theres one for a Lego widow or something??!), from DIY builds to nicknames etc. I want, no, need to be educated! Many thanks :) Dan Quote

splatman Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 More acronyms. Many, if not all, of which are listed in the thread linked above. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 One of my favorite acronyms that didn't really catch on was SLURP (Sandy Large Ugly Rock Piece), a term someone proposed for the sandy "island" piece from the 2009 Pirates sets. Perhaps it might have caught on if the piece had been used in more than one set. Quote
Robert8 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 And MF for Monster Fighters I think MF is more used for Monster Fighters than Millennium Falcon or minifigure Quote
Lyichir Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 And MF for Monster Fighters I think MF is more used for Monster Fighters than Millennium Falcon or minifigure It definitely depends on where it's being discussed—I'm sure it's used more for Millennium Falcon on FBTB or Eurobricks' own Star Wars subforum. The Bionicle/Hero Factory community also has no shortage of acronyms, especially for the names of movies, TV specials, and story arcs (WoS=Web of Shadows, TLR=The Legend Reborn, OoF=Ordeal of Fire, IFB=Invasion From Below, etc.).
