djo Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 OMG, this is awesome news. thank you LEGO for listening us. Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Edit: I also saw on Brickset pics of all new boardgames and there is a monster game with our famous skellie and troll heads but also new red and brown monster faces. Could they be the forebode of new castle monsters? I doubt it. Those faces look really cool, but I think if Lego gives us any monsters, they will be like the large trolls we have now. Those pumpkin heads look cool too. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Lego cannot make packs like these for Star Wars due to a conflict with Hasbro (I think), that's why they have been doing the battlepacks instead. Quote
Batbrick Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Love it! I really want to get this and the orc battlepack, but ultimately I'll only order them if I am to order another exclusive set. So here's hoping Batbrick Away! Quote
ILikePi Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Did they spell "Dwarves" wrong on the container art (not box art ) for the Dwarves Battle Pack? It looks like the word "Dwarfs" to me. Quote
Dadster Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Cool. A nice selection as well... Edit: I also saw on Brickset pics of all new boardgames and there is a monster game with our famous skellie and troll heads but also new red and brown monster faces. Could they be the forebode of new castle monsters? Pics link?! Pleasepleaseplease... Quote
metalandi Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I'm not really sure if all of them are really new, though. Quote
Natman8000 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I'm not really sure if all of them are really new, though. Brown, red, and orange heads are all new. Lego loves to make new pumpkin heads, I know in the scarcrow set there a different ones too. Quote
Oswald the Rabbit Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 That brown head is perfect for a wolfman now all we need is the Dracula hair in brown to complete the look. When will LEGO finally make real pumpkins so there can be something else to sell at the village market. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I'm not much of an army builder, but am definitely excited about the new battle packs. Did they spell "Dwarves" wrong on the container art (not box art) for the Dwarves Battle Pack? It looks like the word "Dwarfs" to me. I believe both are considered correct, but "Dwarfs" is the original spelling and "Dwarves" is a word created by Tolkien. I'm not really sure if all of them are really new, though. The skeleton and orc heads aren't new and I'm not sure about the pumpkin, but I've never seen the red or brown heads before. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 (edited) Yay! I knew it! But Orc one looks better... (Capes) Spider eyes...Is that new pieces? It looks like one stud dot but it have a hole inside! Edited June 14, 2009 by Lordofdragonss Quote
Dadster Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Thanks very much. Pumpkin heads could be new...hard to tell without studying them up close. The red and browns are def new (as everyone already knows) and look to be decent. Reds almost look like some sort of "demonic demon" to me. Quote
WhiteFang Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Thanks TLG! Just wanted to said that, with this upcoming battlepack news, you have indeed start my day with a bright smile! I am really very happy and excited about this set, as it could be very useful for army builders and at the same time, I am able to increase the miners in my dwarves mine. More importantly, those dwarves' helmet are not the common ones. They are part of Dwarves' Mine and Giant Chess set. Quote
Derek Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Woah! This and the new modular firehouse in the same day! This is something I will actually get though, it looks fantastic. Great variety of figures in there, with the helmets and beards. With several of these, making unique dwarves will be easy. Thanks for the find! Quote
iamded Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Awesome news, this is what we've all been waiting for. The last piece in the army building puzzle. ~Peace Quote
Sandy Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Now I'm letting my imagination run free, but they COULD produce a "wolfman" faction out of the brown heads to oppose the hopefully upcoming elves. I doubt it though. I know I get irritated when people take things like these games as a sign of new themes, but I just couldn't help myself. As far as the demons go, I'm not sure if TLG is liberal enough to produce a demon faction for kids. Would be awesome, though, but then I'd like an angelic faction to oppose them. Anyway, if we get elves, I'll be totally satisfied. Any other faction is just a plus to that. Quote
ditto Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 hurray for the new battle packs! they've definitely been a long time coming! Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Thank you very much for the pic, The Cobra! Well, it doesn't look bad - and for those fantasy fans it's surely a good opportunity to get many dwarves. But I don't care about it. It would be awesome to have a BP like this with some medieval civilians! Klaus-Dieter Quote

Mr Spielbrick Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Oooh, quite the battlepack! And a rather handsome little game as well. Mind you, no idea how the game would work... But those heads look fantastic! The pumpkin is a wonderful balance between the Harry Potter one and the Batman one. That red face is pure devil - excellent! Can't see the brown one properly, but it seems to look equally fabulous. Anyone know when it's coming out (specifically in the Netherlands)? Quote
KristofBD Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I second Klaus-Dieter's call for a civilians' battle pack. ...and I would love some more civilian buildings as well! K. Quote
metalandi Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Breaking News! The instructions of the new sets are now up fully and running at lego.com, so be sure to head over there and check them out! Unfortunately with the search engine you only get the mountain fortress ones, but i'm sure that all others are up too, would be cool if somebody could tell us the instruction numbers from them. Quote
gormadoc1 Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Yay I love the dwarf sets so its great to see a dwarf battle pack. Quote
Scop Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Isn´t a "civilian battlepack" kind of a paradox ? ;) Quote
metalandi Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 (edited) Why? There also were civil wars in the middle age, and i could imagine really good a civilian battlepack with pitchforks and such stuff. That would be lovely Btw., i found something cool on the lego club site: http://club.lego.com/de-de/BuildIt/Buildin...tured/ogre.aspx Edited June 15, 2009 by metalandi Quote
