I yesterday could take a look in a 2008 retail catalog in my local special toyshop. The shopowner knows me, but he says he get trouble if he or any body else put the pictures on internet.

this I what I remember:

impulse, but there is a other thread for it,

Policestation: big black/white buiding without raised baseplate, 1 old garagedoor like the 2 in the firestation, 2 cells, a brown dog, a big busines town lookalike.

Police waterplane: big plane, <insert that tiresome argument> pieces, 2 floaters, I think it can be used in the bathtub.

Police crisis truck: abit like the 2002 version, computers in the back, a little police building with it.

Postcar: little car with postman(I thought with uniform), tleast one letter and a good old fashioned letterbox, but then in red.

Little postplane: 90ies style yellow plane without <insert that tiresome argument> pieces

Big postplane: in an other thread there is a picture of it

Ferrari: there shall be this year microscale ferraries, no minifigs

Racers: there will be normal racres and racers from a new movie, so a new license

Trainset with blue pieces

carset nothing special

Holidayhome translated in dutch as beachhouse, Yellow walls, white windows, I thought one oldschool roofwindow, black roofpieces/slopes, a black Harry Potter letter? and a chickenleg for on the barbecue. :-)

in the little set, 2 dogs and a rare Saucisse! :-D

exo-force: it looks like the fight will be places to a jungle, new orcish swords in robot vehicle

Duplo: very cute People from the stoneage with Dinosaurs

That sounds great! Two cells in the new police station - that'll perhaps be like a prison some of us would have liked to have been released!

I only hope that there will be a new post office and another harbor set and that the Rescur HQ will be nice!

@ Yoda: I think Impulse will sell as good as Battle packs and so we will have atleast in januari 2009 new impulse sets, but this is only what I think.I have sadly no link with the design office of TLC

@ Asuka, Mr Hobbles and Highlandcattle: It will be a little set of +/- 5 euro and it has no real wheels. Wheels are made of pieces.

It looks like 2008 is going to be even more expensive than this year :'-( . And I still have sets from this year that I need to get like the Skeleton Ship Attack! :'-( x2 I also have sets I need to get from two years ago like the Viking line! :'-( x50!

But it will be worth it! :-) Especially if that coast Watch set is good!

oh yes. it seems that I just have to get most of the city sets, but then I'll get some extreme problems to store them. Seems that I`ll have to do some radical disassembling (except big and beloved sets) soon, just to get room. I'll have to go out and get me another storage box.

i am very disappointed by the tractor trailors offered by Lego. the rig looks horrible, almost <insert that tiresome argument> with the roof being one solid ugly piece. the trailors arent THAT bad, using the train car as a base plate is actually a good idea IMO. but outside of that, the use of so many large, single pieces seems silly to me. Lego really did it right w/ the 7991 and cement truck for a flat nose rig. i wish they make some standard rigs again, only in 6 wide *sigh*

the police station isnt bad at all, the blue kind of kills it but im sure one can retrofit those pieces with the more common black. i like the station and van. the police helicopter is ok, id perfer something like the rescue copter realsed in 06. the ATV for the police tractor trailor is silly, i made my own version and IMO they are far superior. the new police sea plane is lousy, all i care to say on that.

the cargo plane, IMO is really nice. as was the previous "jumbo" sized airplanes. they seem to fit better then the tiny 4 wide planes of yesteryear. the other cargo sets are mediocre at best.

we need some more regular city sets now...

It is likely that it uses the same wing-piece as the other aircraft, which would be this piece; 56 studs wide. If you intend to make the hangar big enough for 7893, make room for an 18 stud wider wingspan, because that particular set has extensions on its wings.

I just noticed that on the new Police station there is a mailbox similar to the one include with the Postal van. Theres also one in the Creator summer home. Maybe these will be seen in all City-ish ( :-P ) buildings from now on. 8-|

I assume you have seen the new frontpage with the sweet coast guard heli (set 7733). However Legomolk posted that set in the first post: 7726 Coast Watch HQ

So that heli is basically a total surprise and I think we can expect more coast guard sets 8-

I dislike that helicopter! The one from 2006 six is much better! It looks like one big piece, like Jack Stone, with a Train front on it. Maybe I'll change my mind after some clear pics, but as what I'm seeing now... Beuh.

By the way: Does anyone know something about a possibly new post office? I mean: Since TLC is going to release the post car and the post plane in 2008 there must be a post station, too, don't you think?! The only thing which is possible is that TLC is going to release the post station one year after the post vehicles like they did with the new train station - but I don't know ...

I really hope you are right in this, I have almost no doubt that TLC will release a post ofice, it is INEVITABLE! *skull* I kinda do hope that the supposed post office would come out in 09, that way I don't go into spending overload! X-D
