Iam epic Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I think lego has stopped production of JW sets. A couple weeks age I want looking for Raptor Rampage and Walmart, Target and Toysrus were all out of stock. I checked online but all of those retailers were out of stock on all the sets. I checked Lego's website and Raptor escape was sold out and all the other sets were out of stock. I guess walmart won't be getting that set in stock again. I ordered the Barry minify off bricklink(it arrived today)but I guess lego has stopped production of these sets. However I do have pterdon attack and Rapto rampage(got from ebay for$60), guess ill have to get sheng yuans mini fig set(I have LELE"S but SY has better quality. I hope SY will make T-Rex and I-rex figures. Quote
Sir Gareth Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 (edited) All the sets, except Raptor Escape, are out of stock while more are being produced. Raptor Escape is sold out because it's an exclusive, only available at Walmart and the LEGO Store, so less were produced. It may or may not get another production run. Probally not since Its does say Sold out. I have never seen lego produce more of a sold out product. Quote

The Exo Suit and Research Institute are examples, but I agree, things don't look too bright. Edited August 18, 2015 by Sir Gareth Quote
mike_mcbam Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Raptor Escape is listed as "Out of Stock" in Europe, but with an estimated shipping date of September 9th, perhaps suggesting that more are indeed being made. Or I suppose they might simply be redistributing them from other sources, I don't really know how it works Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I still need to get a few of these sets, so lets hope they come back in stock soon. I suspect TLG was not anticipating the movie to be as popular as it was and only did the initial run. The movie has been a monster at the box office and toy stores have dinosaur everything. I am sure they will be fully stocked (outside the exclusive) by September when everyone starts Christmas shopping. Quote
sander1992 Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I heard from a local store owner that TLG has some issues with supply and demand. The local store owner can not order new Jurassic World sets this year. It is not just Jurassic World, but also Legend of Chima, Minecraft and friend (I think). Quote
dmarvin Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 It's crazy how fast these disappeared considering how expensive they are. But I shouldn't be surprised since I bought them all except for T-Rex Tracker, which was IMO a poor value and had zero movie accuracy as a set. Is it really possible for the Wal-Mart exclusive to have sold out so quickly without being reproduced? Quote
The Jersey Brick Guy Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Remember a couple of years ago the Zombie one went quickly also. With an exclusive like that, I would imagine they did only the 1 run as it would be a gamble if it would sell or not. Quote
JVM Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 The thing that surprises me is the fact many of these seemed to go out of stock right after the movie came out. I loved the movie but didn't buy the sets right away because I figured new sets wouldn't disappear so quickly (As a general rule, I try to buy older sets first.) and that the movie had just come out and I wanted to reflect a bit. It looks unlikely I'll be able to collect all of them, much less a portion. I really hope there's second pressings - I'd like to at least collect them all sans Raptor Escape, although I'd never pass that one up again. Quote
Captain Nemo Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Well I think it makes sense that the sets would have sold better following the movies release--because the interest in the property is heightened. That being said, personally, it was hard for me to even find the sets before the movie came out. I have to say I'm starting to get worried...I'm only missing the two largest sets, as I've been waiting on them to slowly raise up funds--but I'm really getting worried that I won't be able to find an Indominous Rex set now. At this point I don't care if I miss out on the T-Rex set because there will always be more Lego T-Rex sets--it's just a matter of time--but there will never be another Indominous set. Quote
Boettner Builds Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I've still seen t- Rex and I- Rex sets in the wild in Northern California. Quote
JVM Posted August 29, 2015 Posted August 29, 2015 At a local Toys R Us, I asked and was pretty much assured they would get another shipment of LEGO Jurassic World items. I did play the cynic a bit but it seemed as if they'd been guaranteed in advance. I'm not taking it as gosepl truth, but it gave me some hope. Of related note, when I was at Walmart and TRU recently, I saw several T-Rex Trackers, which I hadn't seen in June at either store alongside the other sets. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I picked up Dilophosaurus Ambush last night from my local LEGO store. It was the only JW set they had in stock, but the employee there implied that they would be getting more sets in, even though he didn't say when. Quote
dmarvin Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Lego Shop still only has the WalMart exclusive listed as being "sold out." It looks like it expects to ship more of all the others later this month or early October, depending upon the set. That should be well-timed with the home video release of JW. It definitely looks like they outsold expectations though. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 They're a bit disappointing anyway in my opinion. Why do none of the sets feature A: The iconic gates or B: characters from the other three movies? A LEGO Ian Malcolm would be amazing. Quote

Because they're based on the new and current material only (the one that's the 3rd highest grossing film of all-time), not the old stuff. It was never expected or announced that they would make the sets based on originals; the failure of the awesome Ideas submission to get greenlit assured us of that. Quote

The new film which is a part of the Jurassic Park franchise. Also: the game features the original trilogy so I don't see why the sets can't. Personally, I was expecting sets based on the first three too so you can understand it being disappointing that the originals haven't got LEGO sets yet. Quote
