talos Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I was going to be in London in October, and noticed that the London Westfield Center store was fairly close to where I will be staying. Is this store worth a visit? I am trying to decide to take time to go there, or not. Any feedback would be appreciated! Cheers! Quote
L@go Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Which one? There's two - one at Westfield Shepherd's Bush and one at Westfield Stratford. They're both nice, though - I've visited the Shepherd's Bush one the most (on Friday, for example), as it's a little bit closer to central London, but I'd say they're both worth a visit. Then again, I live in a country with no LEGO stores, so I'd say any LEGO store is worth a visit... :) Quote
talos Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 Ah the Shepherd's Bush would be the one I could visit. Thanks for your opinion! I am spoiled here, in California, there are 3 stores within reason of driving to, for me. I wanted to visit a UK example to compare it to here. Cheers. Quote
L@go Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Well, it's easy to find - exit the tube station, turn left, walk along the walkway up to the main entrance, then when you get inside turn left on the ground floor. Once you reach the end of that row of shops you'll see it. The staff is very friendly, they helped me pick a complete set of Series 2 Simpsons minifigs :) Quote
talos Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 Thanks for the tips and directions. I will be within walking distance of there, from my hotel, so figured will just sightsee on over there. Quote
talos Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 Geez, looking at the conversion to US $ from UK £, everything seems to have about a $20 premium. I think I will just get something small and leave it at that...wow, I didn't realize how big of difference most other countries pay more than compared to here in the US... kind of sucks... Quote
L@go Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yes, it does suck. Remember, though, that there's no kind of tax on top of that - what it says on the price tag is what you pay - so the difference isn't quite as big as it seems. Quote

That's one of the only good things- no tax, as even factoring in tax the diff is still extremely steep. Quote
