When TLC announced the Star Wars line I about dropped dead. I thought it was too good to be true for the longest time. This was before I had consistent access to the internet so the first time I saw the sets was in a TRU. I stared at them for probably an hour, before grabbing as many as I could afford, which if I remember correctly were the Snowspeeder and Speeder Bikes. I took them right back to my college apartment and locked my door and built them. I was so happy!

Recently I was pretty excited about the cafe corner. After ages of wanting TLC to do something like this I was very excited to see this set. It really has taken my building technique to the next level as I try to build a cool city around it.

Of course, I was just as excited when I was a kid and they brought Fabuland back to the states. :-$ The discontinued it and then brought it back a couple of years later through the mail order catalog only. That was a pretty cool day when I got that first Fabuland catalog in the mail and their were crocodiles, poodles and walruses and an amusment park and all sorts of cool stuff!

And of course, I love completing an MOC, photographing it and sharing it online.

What were your favorite LEGO moments?

Hundreds, but I am supposed to be in bed so I'll mention only a few;

The return to a less stricktly themed castles.

Buying the Bulldozer thinking it was just motors, tracks and a few extra parts then realising how well it is done.

Seeing how good the recent Star Wars sets are; especially Slave 1 and the MTT. (I hated the MTT in the movie, but I love the Lego one! *wacko* )

More later...my wife is back and she will belt me up if I don't get back soon! :-$

Probably finding EB while looking for new sets on the internet. :-$

I made a little MOC of me a little while ago in miniland scale, holding a raven on glove. My family loved it- I was so proud. :-$

Then, seeing the new castle line. It's good to see a return of some sorts to castle.

And, now the new Indie line. *wub*

As a little kid i remember going to winners and seeing the time twisters. They were even cooler to me back then. I must have thought to myself, this theme was made for me. I did whatever i could to get all three sets. The cruisers werent there i dont think....

Cafe Corner. It's what brought me back into the hobby. I had been wanting a set like this since I was a small kid, and it was set that brought me out of my Dark Ages.

Also, the Metroliner. I had seen this in a LEGO catalog in 1993(?) and wanted it, but it was never bought for me. :-( Now an AFOL though, this set seems to have gained a cult like following so I bought it to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't think I'd be that surprised!

Probably the UCS MF!!! *wub*

And the modular houses line (cafe corner especially. I was in the hospital with my brother (Lllooonnngggg story! :-( ) and I was browing on a laptop and came across the first pictures on shop.lego.com! My aunt bought it for me 'casue of the mental stress I was put through when my brother was in the hospital periodically for a few months :'-( ;-) )

1st place: Technic line. All time classic, kinda lost in some 90's models, but strong returning.

2nd place: Star Wars line. A natural born classic.

3rd place: Indy line. WWII dressed as a movie.

4th place: new Castle theme, bringing back some of the old castles scent.

Perhaps these are the best moments to me.

The best building moment: Technic 8448 and 8480. Unforgettable.

I was full-on buried deep in my dark ages but collecting general SW stuff when I saw the first new sets and thought, "hey, those are SW, I need them for my collection." I wasn't absolutely convinced I would build them and then it all flooded back. The space men, the knights, the pirates...

So, there I was, sprawled out on the bed with bits of LEGO rolling around looking for that much needed next part and I was 10 again. I refuse to turn 11.

Since then, the prequels came and went in all their disappointment, and I've completely stopped collecting SW, except LEGO. Along the way, I started picking up small sets of other things on clearance. The first Mars sets, some Fright Knights, some random things. They were immediately bashed up for SW mocs and scenery.

Now I'm rebuilding my Pirates, Castle, Town, and Space sets (for the moment I'm just restocking as many minifigs and accessories as I can). I always liked having them before, but now they're almost the focus of my collecting.

So many good sets now, so much to look ahead to, like Indy, I don't see anything but good times ahead (as soon as the part quality gets completely back to normal).

Too many wonderful surprises to count, but those first SW sets were responsible for saving me from a LEGOless future, and that cute little dark lord of the sith himself, Darth Vader in all his minifig glory, was probably the best surprise out of those first new sets. So cute! *wub* So evil! >:-) So *vader*!

I guess I was pretty surprised with Star Wars, much like everyone else. I was about nine back then and SW was one of my favourite films (they still are), so it was a big thing (it still is).

Then of course, Batman. For years I'd been wishing for Lego Batman, just because it'd be so cool. And then last year Lego obliged. It was much the same feeling I'd had when I was nine, only now I was 15/16.

Then this year I'm 16/17, and I've just gone through it again with Indy.

As far as actual sets go, I was pretty surprised be the Mocular City line, and the UCS sets, especially the MF. Which is funny, as I don't own any of them. :-P

My favorite LEGO surpise? There are a lot of them!

I remember when I was young, looking at the catalogue during hours, dreaming from those nice pics about all those sets! And for christmas, I always had one big set each year! So after looknig at them in the catalogue, and looking at the boxes in the shops, they became mine!

And during the year, my parents bought me one or two small sets because I worked at school. I was so happy with those small sets too!

Another great surpise was the SpongeBob line! In fact, I'm a real fan of this cartoon. And the LEGO line is nearly perfect compared to it. And Bob is so cute with its stud on top of its head *wub* !

And my last big LEGO surpise was the discovery of LEGOLAND! It was yesterday, and I always have bricks and bricks in my head! Thanks Jipay and Yoda for this nice day!

Most likely when I was building my Imperial Star Destroyer. That was one awsome build!

...

Same here!

It's the only set that i've still kept all the pieces separate from the rest of my collection.

I love my UCS ISD *wub*

Next best thing ever is getting the Black Seas Barracuda! *y*

Tis a grand little brig with fine lines *pirate*

Lately what i've been impressed with is the return of the classic sword and all the new castle weapons :'-)

I have very much enjoyed the classic sword and the skelie sword *skull*

Back in the spring of 1989, I was very happy with the new Pirate sets, they were so new and different. It was a very good addition to the 3 head lines Town, Knights and Space. I bought my first set when I was on vacation on the Island of Texel (also in The Netherlands) which gave it a extra boost to me. I collected big shells from the beach and they become isles for the pirates to explore on the table that became sea. Oh, those sweet memories.

when I was pushed back again in Lego in 2001 I was very happy to see much star wars sets half prized and bought immediality a bunch of them although I had then not seen the phantom menace, so I didn't exactly knew who were Qui-gon and Darth Maul. But I didn't care. Soon after that I saw the movie. Then In the fall of 2001 I was rejoiced when I saw they made Harry Potter Lego.

I was also very happy with the Orient Expedition line from 2003 and the new city line from 2005 (which had maybe already a kick-start in 2002/2004).

I'm now very happy with the renaissance of Castle lego. :-)

I was in my Dark Ages until i was involved in a motorbike accident that left my left hand and some fingers immobile.

Wanting to make my Left hand and fingers do a little exercise, my GF & I bought the CITY Ambulance and Airport Firetruck and later, the Heavy Hauler 7900. It worked wonders with my Injuries and i couldn't stop buying Lego after that.. of coz.. my GF wasn't Happy abt it. *wacko*
