Karalora Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 On the other hand, I can see how it would benefit people who missed the first Toy Shop. It's been long enough that you basically can't get that set anymore--I just checked on Bricklink and the cheapest one was missing the box and instructions and going for €150. That's a good 4x what it cost originally. But a toy shop is one of the fundamentals of any decent Christmas...sorry, Winter Village. I'll still probably get it if it's another toy shop. I'm in too deep to stop now! Quote
DuckBricks Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Hello all, Apologies for starting a new topic just for this, but Barnes and Nobles confirmed the Winter Toy Shop in a coupon list (http://www.barnesandnoble.com/mobile/h/terms-and-conditions/coupon-exclusions) Cheers! Legozebra Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Yep, Barnes & Noble says 10249 - Winter Toy Shop Edited August 9, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Hmmm, so what happened with that "long lost reliable source" from Brickset? Maybe a combination of Toy and Candy shops? Or a Toy Shop with a gingerbread house theme? Quote
finish-last Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 GRogall's hints were a good source in the past, so I'm all in for the candy shop. If it is a toy shop I'll moc it to fit my candy needs. I can't loose now! Quote
Robert8 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Maybe it's a shop that sells toys made of candy Edited August 9, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
Blackpool Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I'm still not totally convinced that its a toy shop. That's what we've assumed is the placeholder for a long time now. Just because Barnes and Noble has it as toy shop doesn't mean its still not a placeholder. I'm still holding out hope! =D Quote
ilikeboomerang1 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 It might not be. I think in the 2016 Architecture thread they were talking about how B&N promoted for Architecture Eames House, and it got cancelled, so that might happen here too. Quote
Legocity2713 Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 They won't cancel a Winter Village set... I know, that would be like canceling Christmas. So, its either a fill-in name, or toy shop competition it is. Stuff is getting really heated on Arctic lane huh, better call in Ace Brickman before the toy shops start feuding over turf. Quote
(1)Stein Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) I find it strange that a non Moderator would change the title and move the thread where it doesn't belong, Guess Lego wants the rumours to calm down a bit! A german store manager actually told me that a place holder in the database actually says (Werkstadt) which was last year's set. and another source who never reveals anything ever told me it would be the toyshop, So i'm pretty sure all of this info is just a place holder for the real set! which info should be released this weekend! Hope the title (Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion) will be put back! Edited August 11, 2015 by (1)Stein Quote
finish-last Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Changing the title is wrong in so many ways... And I do think the thread belongs to the towns forum unless we get a village forum *shakes head sadly* Quote
Paperballpark Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Why on earth has this thread been moved, and the title changed, given that the thread is over 4 years old?! Went to look for it this morning and couldn't find it - I had to go into my previous posts to find it. Stupid. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 We have an entire threa-- oh? What the heck? Why was this moved and renamed and stuff? We didn't need this? Quote
tafkatb Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I suspect a moderator intended to merge this topic into the existing Winter Village thread but accidentally merged the Winter Village thread into this topic instead. Quote
CM4Sci Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Set will be $79.99 in case we didn't know. Quote
finish-last Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) And in other stores they only use 10249 - Winter Village Set for 2015. Maybe they always copy an old excel sheet with the old names, then they fill in the number and then the name. Oh and just for the fun of it, go here: http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=10249 Which results in: h ttp://shop.lego.com/en-US/Winter-Toy-Shop-10249?p=10249 Or in german: h ttp://shop.lego.com/de-DE/Weihnachtlicher-Spielzeugladen-10249?p=10249 I think it's just a placeholder in the database nothing more. Maybe that's what caused the original rumours?! Just in case you're wondering, if you change the word "toy" in the URL to "candy", you will still be transfered to the "toy"-URL because it's all connected to the id 10249. So I bet it's just a data copy of the original 10199 set, which makes perfect sense to me. Oh and another thing if you use 10251 in my first URL, you will end where the URL says Expert-1-Confidential-10251. If you look up the hoth base it will say: Star-Wars-Direct-Confidential-75098 The reason why it shows "toy shop" is simple that they forgot to change the value to something like WV-Confidential-10249 or something. That's the way almost any CMS outthere works. They just didn't use it the right way if you ask me... If someone has plenty of time, he or she can open the URL above everyday and tell us when the name changes to CANDY SHOP yay... Edited August 10, 2015 by finish-last Quote
Paperballpark Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 (edited) ^ I tried changing it to 'Winter Sex Shop', but it changed it back to 'Winter Toy Shop'. Now it has me wondering what kind of toys... Anyway, your post was interesting because I've just been playing around with set numbers. So far I've found the following: 10251 Expert 1 Confidential 21304 Doctor Who 21305 LEGO Ideas 1 2016 21123 LEGO Minecraft 1 Confidential 21124 LEGO Minecraft 2 Confidential 21125 LEGO Minecraft 3 Confidential 21126 LEGO Minecraft 4 Confidential Clearly, all but the second one are placeholder names. Because of this, I now don't think the Winter Village Toy Shop is a placeholder name. Even taking into account what has been said above, I think it's far more likely that 'Toy Shop' is the actual name, rather than Lego 'forgetting' to create a placeholder name for it. Blackpool Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Looks like what happened is the original thread got merged with one posted the other day about the Barnes and Noble list. Unfortunately it appears it took on the post title of the more recent thread instead of the one we are all used to. Quote

Hinckley Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 It's all fixed now, guys. No need to get upset about it. Everybody makes mistakes. Quote
BrickOn Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 So I would like to see I shop with a candy canes round the door and other candy/gingerbread house style decorations outside... I guess the shop could sell toys or candy inside, but the outside would be all candy themed :-) :-) Quote
just2good Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 10251 should be the Arcade Modular. I wish... Quote
