Hi guys,

I'm currently working on a train on tires that uses the chassis of a tank but i have a few problems. one is that the train is 6 studs wide and creates almost no space for the 2 M motors and the other is that this is my first RC project and i have zero experience with tanks or RC in general. i think squeezing in the parts won't be a real problem but wheels... the locomotive only uses tires so no caterpillar tracks and I'm worried that eleven gears next to each other will stress the motor and give a lot of friction... the best way could be using bigger wheels but then it would be more like a monstertruck than a train. I think that using unpowered tires will be a problem when doing 360ΒΊ turns. if I'm doing it that way I could maybe place the motors between the tires but I'm not sure about that. and do i need multiple receiver to control the motors independently? if someone has pictures of a extremely compact tank design or give me some advice, please comment!

This tank chassis by Mahj is the most compact one that I know of from the top of my head:

It should be possible to make it even narrower by placeing the motors in one line with their butts touching, instead of side by side as in this video.
