dunamis Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I was at my local LEGO store in Glendale, California today taking advantage of the double stamp promotion and they had just received the TIE Crawler. I told the clerk that I was looking forward to the Falcon and he said they were just told to expect them to be in stores as early as NEXT WEEK. In addition, they will be raffling off a Falcon in the month of October. Finally, they will be running sales (only 10% off) on various UCS Star Wars sets (TIE Advanced, AT-ST, Death Star II, ISD, etc) in October. Incidentally, I've been checking my credit card and I have not yet been billed for the Falcons that I pre-ordered. Presumably, those that pre-ordered would receive theirs before they start showing up in stores. At any rate, be on the lookout starting next week for the Falcon... Quote

Sounds very interesting. Do you know when they'll have sales on UCS sets. I'll take the 10% off any day! ;-) Quote
dunamis Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 Thanks for the news! Sounds very interesting.Do you know when they'll have sales on UCS sets. I'll take the 10% off any day! ;-) Yes, as I mentioned four of the UCS sets will be on sale next month (October). Also, keep in mind that if you buy a Falcon in September, you get double stamps. So, you basically get a $70 gift card for buying the Falcon. Quote

natelite Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 dunamis - would you mind posting the dates for the SW sales? I know it runs throughout oct, but what are the specifics? Eg, tie advanced from which date to which date? Etc. The nearest lego store is about 30mins drive away so I'm reluctant to drive there just to pick up the calendar. Quote

It's in the car and I won't be home for several hours. Seems like it was one set per week. Quote

I would imagine those sales apply to every store? X-D They must. My closest store is about a 45 minute drive, unfortunately. (They really need turn them into franchises! ;-) ) Quote
Corvus Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 45 minutes? Well, you sure are lucky- the nearest lego store for me is in Portland, OR, a five hour drive. |-/ If I pass through the store some time soon, I'll take a look. Thank's a lot for the information. Quote
Shadows Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 I'll be more than a bit annoyed if they do show up in the store before those of us who preordered 6 months ago get them. I'll also be annoyed if they're the #'d edition and buying it in the store is not only cheaper after double stamps. Bad enough we've been told to forget getting a gold C3P0 in them (sort of cancels out the "all 2007 sets except battle packs" claim). Yep. I'm already expecting to be very annoyed. Quote

I guess I am lucky then, huh? Well, maybe not, 'cause I don't drive (yet ;-) ) and my parents hate the LEGO products for the most part 'cause they step on them in the middle of the night! :-D But it wouldn't seem fair if the stores are numbered like the preorders. I haven't ordered mine 'cause of the price. $500 USD is a LOT of money. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to other legos you could buy! But I'm saving up! ($275 so far! I'm already more than half way there!) I just hope buying the numbered editions will be worth it ~ otherwise, I'd just wait. |-/ Quote
Corvus Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 Yep. I probably won't end up getting it, because I'm not much of a shelf guy. I like things to be in some order in my "base". I don't see how I could use the UCS falcon in my plotline. :-P I also plan on using my hard-earned cash to buy mass amounts of light/dark grey so I can color-code my base. I also really need to get those dock plates from the City Harbor set to remake my dock, etc. You get the idea. Not enough money. I might enter in the raffle, though. If I can. I also need the money to go to the EB event, if I can. What a pricey year. This is going to be a lot of UCS sets to be in the lego stores at one time. The kids won't like that. Quote

OK, here ya go: The following sets are 10% off on the dates in OCTOBER specified below: 10143 Death Star II 2-4 10030 ISD 16-18 10174 AT-ST 22-23 10175 25-26 In addition, you can enter to win one of the first edition USC Falcons. Finally, if you spend $50 or more, you get a free Palpatine key chain Quote
Courleciel Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I phoned in LEGO and they sayd to me that they didn't receipt the box. Quote
badgerboy Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I got an e-mail a couple of days ago warning me to prepare myself for the 5000 piece beastie's arrival - It's not been dispatched yet. They've notified me that credit card authorisation has happened but that no funds will be taken until the Falcon is dispatched. five long months of waiting for the falcon to arrive - hardly the kessel run but it's nearly here - HOORAY! X-D Quote
Courleciel Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I had this e-mail too. :-) I think that it will arrive ahead of time. *y* I wait day with impatience, I fabricated a countdown. :-D Quote
