Today I bought set 8777 (Vladek Encounter) at Brickfair Virginia.

I got home and started building the set, and I quickly noticed that the bricks were hard to separate once I attached them to the build. Long story short, I ended up with a black 2x1 stuck in the barding gap of the horse included. :hmpf_bad:

I couldn't pull it out and used a variety of methods to attempt to free the brick, including using a rubber band and a brick separator.

Any suggestions?

just get a tiny titanium crowbar... Doesn't everyone have those laying around?

Interestingly, you can try a minifigure crowbar where a brick separator wont fit.

I would try using a 1x8 or longer centered on the brick. This should give you good gripping surface. Push down and to the side at a diagonal, so that you are keeping firm pressure on one side while lifting up the other. And then put a minifig crowbar, small screwdriver etc under the opening to lever off the rest of the way (if necessary).

If you get desperate and don't mind destroying the brick, get some needle nose vice grips.

Thank you to everyone who responded.

Unfortunately, none of the proposed methods worked, but I was able to solve the problem. :classic:

I put the included 1x2 flat onto the stuck piece and pushed sideways. The added height gave me more room to put my finger, and eventually the brick came out.

My finger stung for quite a while, but it was worth it.

Again, thanks guys.
