I'm starting work on my Isla Cruces MOC, and the only thing I have no idea how to make is the giant water wheel. Would anyone happen to have any ideas on how to do this?

Any help would be appreciated. :-D

Personally I'm quite fond of SirNadroj's technique:

Pretty simple, but awesome! :)

Is there any way I could make it bigger? It needs to be able to have Jack, Norrington, and Will on it.

If not, I may end up using that design in the end. :-/

Hmmm......it looks like Sir Nadroj and The Brickster have the same technique. ;-) Which isn't exactly new, it's been on Brickshelf for a while. Personally, I think the best bet is a whole lot of these pieces arranged in a circle.

That's how this wheel was accomplished -

I like the TheBrickster's method. It's fairly open.

This might be my final method, seeing as I have the pieces for it.

Yes, i have an idea, something out of an old idea book....

I'll get back to you somewhere thisweek, ok?

That'd be fine, I'm working on the landscaping and other parts of it right now. ;-)

That'd be the most accurate one, but I don't have nearly enough of those pieces; and I'm saving money for The Office Season 3 and the new Family Guy DVDs. :-$

Something as close to that as possible would be wonderful. Any ideas?

How about using tecnic for framing. and filling in with plates? some of the tecnic bricks are quite long so you should be able to get a good diameter for it.

I'd use a bunch of these

All clipped to one another in a circle. Then build a centre frame .

Thats actually a great idea! I've never thought about doing that! I'll have to remember that for the future! *y*

That's a great idea! And I think I have enough to make a decent-sized wheel. Thanks! :-D

Hey Mr. Ryan,

You could try to make a water wheel using the same method to make round hulls discussed in the Round Hulls thread.

Just a thought X-D

I figured out that I have enough of these pieces:

But if that doesn't work out that'll be my next option. Thanks for the idea! :-D
