New Greek Line?!

I was scanning the recent folders on brickshelf and came across this:

It looks like Lego's finally giving us a Greek line!

Nope, there's no way that this is happening and there's no way that set is real. Old style skeletons all over the place? Two plates hastily stuck together?? Minifigure parts used in construction???

And most of all, Armothe's custom wizard staff?? This is 150% faked. The caption doesn't even match!

This doesn't seem real to me. The set looks like a MOC, it has the old skellies in it and both the new and old skellie faces.

Nah, that is fake. A mixture of skeleton heads, old bodies new heads, a Brickshelf folder with one photo.... I'm not convinced.

Obviously fake, if you ask me. Bad construction, too many odd skellies [in Hades anyway, there weren't skellies, but spirits]. Plus it looks totally un-Greek. But then again, it looks to be from the same catalogue that we got Dwarf Mining from [and that's real] so it could simply be a very bad prototype.

That staff would be in the hand of the mini fig in the boat. It blends in with his hood. Somewhat hard to see.

IMO, the thing looks kinda need, but way to "thrown" together to be an actual set! Greek sure would be a cool theme though!!!

That's what I was thinking about. It's just a black antenna with a black cone attached to it, a widely used design to make magical staffs.

Hercules's torso design doesn't look Lego like either. I think that Lego would simply use a bare yellow torso.

Yeah, Lego wouldn't just call it "GREEK!!!" and leave it at that.

Well the only thing decent was the use of the HP dog as Cerberus (where do you think HP got it fom anyway).

The Styx is not scary enough and wtf are those skellies doing !! Cerberus is keeping the gateway to Hell (to stay simple) so there would not be any bones there :-|

And even the Logo is really not well done !!

Well, I mean yeah, it could've been good. Some sort of mythology-based history line would've been an instant buy in my book.

Another thing, look at the black baseplates. Even without the grainy photoshopping, they look just a little bit dusty. Actually, bear in mind that this is someone's MOC we're ripping to shreds.

It is all in old brown. LEGO does not use old brown. Obvious fake and I am glad. I am tired of skeletons verses people sets and if this was a true series it would be garbage.

I want to see some sweet creatures like minotaurs, gorgons, centaurs, satyrs, and hydras. Not to mention some crested helmets, round shields, and javelins on traditional greek soldiers. Some philosophers might be nice too.

People can make custom sets all they want, and shouldn't have to label them as not real. However, when people make custom sets and pretend that they are real is what pisses me off.

Without the "NEW January" label and the file names, it would have been fine.

I dont care if this is somebodies moc, it STINKS. Whoever made this had the clear intention of creating a ruckus in the Afol community, and nothing more. These people need to find something more constructive to do with their spare time.

Maybe lego? :-D
