I got a V2 IR reciever with "37K2" as production time stamp.

I have no idea from which product I got it, maybe from an 8043 that I bought for parts but never tested, or from an 9398 or 42030 that did work but now has detoriated..

How are my chances of getting a new one from TLG, warranty and how old is my IR.

Did of course first some search in the threads but couldn't find anything applying to my case.

Thankful for directions and experiences!

You won't know until you've contacted LEGO Customer Service.

V2 IR Receiver came with the 9398 set. LEGO may or may not ask you to send the defective unit back.

Thanks,

Did some thinking. V2 was not in 8043 or 42030. My mistake and assumption because I had 3 of them (1 from the 9398) and didn't do an inventory of the number of V2:s that I actually have.

Seems I have 3 V2..

So, now I have figured out where one came from, if it isn't from my 9398...it came with a BL delivery of 4 XL motors where I accidentally got an IR shipped as well, and all is rectified with seller and we are all good of course!

But the third one?

I own 4 of the v2 ir receivers. 2 from official sets and 2 from Bricklink. What confuses me is the fact that the V2 stamp is printed different on all of them! How can one tell if you are actually buying V2 and not some stamped copy?

There is a problem with the V2 starting more than one M motor from the same output. If you hook up two or more M motors to the same output and they start, then it is probably not a V2.

I had a problem with a receiver from set 42030, right out of the box.

Contacted customer service. They send me a new one, i send them the broken piece.
