Markalus Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I don't know if it's just a glitch but the European and Australian Lego shop@home websites are all showing these sets as "sold out"! Surely they haven't retired them all at once? Death Star too. Quote
Agent 86 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Odd. At least some Australian retailers are expecting more stock of the Palace Cinema and the Pet Shop later this year: http://www.outerrimtradingco.com.au/content/ort-productlist.asp?name=LEGO-Exclusives Unless there has been a miscommunication? peter_m Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 If it were only Pet Shop and Palace Cinema I would be convinced that this is their retirement. But those are also Parisian Restaurant (fairly fresh) and Kwik-E-Mart (new) Quote

But those are also Parisian Restaurant (fairly fresh) and Kwik-E-Mart (new) Good point. The Parisian Restaurant seemed highly unlikely but I didn't realize Kwik-E-Mart had sold out too. It's also very weird that all these highly sought after sets all appear as sold out on the same day! I guess 'sold out' doesn't mean what it use to in Lego speak...or Barry in IT just hit the wrong key before going home for the day. Quote

Markalus Posted July 22, 2015 Author Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer is notable amongst sets from multiple lines that are also listed as sold out. I really do hope this is temporary and not a sign that TLG is rationalising European distribution. Edited July 22, 2015 by Markalus Quote
Chilis Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I`ve just sent them an email, this is very sad if true.. The kwik-e-mart,.. seriously? Quote
craiggrannell Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 (edited) John Lewis is out of the PR as well, note. Perhaps a stock issue. If not, that's not a long life for that set. The only other set I'd quite like is the PC, so I'm wondering now whether to grab one while it's still in the channel or hang on and see whether Lego itself will get some back in. Robert_88 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) The only other set I'd quite like is the PC, so I'm wondering now whether to grab one while it's still in the chain or hang on and see whether Lego itself will get some back in. Me too. But honestly I can't imagine that the PC is already retired. I know a guy who ordered a PS this spring when it was on back order and Lego cancelled his order and told him this set is already retired. He even got some VIP points because of that. A few weeks later the set was available again...Anyway I think this is an indication that the PS will retire this year and normally they only retire one modular every year. The only reason why I'm not totally sure is because Lego really surprised me last year when they retired the TH... Edited July 23, 2015 by Robert_88 Quote
Gongoro73 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Kwik_E mart retired??????? After a few months?. Man, I can't believe it, this can't be true. Hope TLG will release some more, I missed it! Quote
Withacee Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Kwik-E-Mart still readily available in The Netherlands at lego.com. So is Parisian Restaurant. Funny thing, though... If I search for them at the lego site, they show up as Sold out. But if I click the search result, the items shows up as "Available now". Mind you, I am logged in as VIP at that point. Quote
Gongoro73 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I've just searched again and everything appears as available. PC, PS, PR and Kwik. (¿?) Quote
Markalus Posted July 23, 2015 Author Posted July 23, 2015 I've just searched again and everything appears as available. PC, PS, PR and Kwik. (¿?) Yep, same here. All are either available now or temporarily out of stock with an ETA. I joked about "Barry" pressing the wrong button before going home for the day but given this anomaly it now seems more likely! Crisis averted. Quote
craiggrannell Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) UK PC/Kwik-E-Mart/Pet Shop have switched to OOS (expected ship date Aug 4/30 days/30 days). PR is Aug 14. Edited July 23, 2015 by craiggrannell Quote
Mark Kay Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Kwik E Mart due to be on sale in Smyths Toys from September so won't retire any time soon. Quote
cullmancreations Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 I checked the US store some things are sold out but not retired maybe this is a European problem Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 It is always like this: sold out then retired Quote
SeanJFry Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Kwik-E-Mart, PR, PS, PC, and Death Star have all gone from 'sold out' to 'out of stock - will ship in 30 days' at S@H Australia. Quote
Mattnocharm Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Off the theme, Trevi fountain is also showing ship in 30 days.. Not sure how well this has sold so far, would Lego retire this set so soon? Robie House was short lived, but it was 2 years shelf life Quote
ogelivation Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 These 3 are back in stock at Lego Australia - I bought the Pet Shop a few weeks ago (shipping was delayed though) and today I bought Parisian Restaurant... yay!!!!!! Quote
