dunamis Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 I'm guessing it is real. However a $14.99 price tag looks more realistic than $9.99 we saw on the first wave of battle packs. Real or not, it makes for good lively discussion for another 23 days until the Falcon comes out... Quote

Corvus Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) I can't see it. The brickshelf folder says "Folder not found". |-/ Edit: whoops, didn't see Maiq's comment. :-$ Edited September 7, 2007 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Yeah, same as MM said. It's gone good. Looks like someone got scared of something, or maybe Kevin put it down. Although neither of my reasons make any sense, while their the only plausible ones out there. Quote
Legoman Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 no-no-no.the folder was just moved thats all it was moved to here heres the pic for those who missed the origanal. Quote
PSPguy Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 (edited) Did anyone save the pic? thanks. looks good to me.us Edited September 7, 2007 by PSPguy Quote
Corvus Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Ah! Here it is. It looks good, but it also looks fake. four things: 1: The design isn't something lego would make. That looks like an AFOL (or TFOL!) This looks like it would lose some parts, like the cockpit, if it was set down or swooshed too hard. Lego would make something sturdier. 2. The lighting. It looks a bit yellow, like ImperialScouts said, and it is a bit grainy for Lego. Also, Lego likes to have their minifigs very easy to see, where here, we can't see the pilot's helmet so well, and the stormtroopers are hard to see. 3. Notice the lack of stickers? 4. Lego would probably put on a big, easily accessable cockpit. Quote
Doctor Sinister Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 4. Lego would probably put on a big, easily accessable cockpit. You make a good point there, but there is the possibility that the whole top/front of the cockpit might hinge forward? Dr. S. Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 hmmm it looks kind of cheesy, but who cares we prop might get three or four troops with it.looks like a real thing with the bley flick launching missles and the guns Quote
Corvus Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 (edited) You make a good point there, but there is the possibility that the whole top/front of the cockpit might hinge forward?Dr. S. Maybe. It doesn't really look like it, but who knows? It seems to me that lego likes large cockpits because they have more "character" I.E. you can see the minifig inside, so you know where the "Head" is. The design of this ship is cool, but just not... lego. It's too serious, in a way. Edited September 8, 2007 by Mr. Mandalorian Quote
SWMAN Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I think it is a fake. Doesn't look like anything star wars, and lego always uses big stickers and stuff for different themes. There would be Imperial Logos on it. It looks too not star wars. I also hope it is a fake, because it looks kind of stupid. Quote
Piranha Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Looks like a MOC Not very Lego SW and too many pieces for a 10.00USD set I hope the actual lego version looks better and more figs Piranha Quote
baby Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I cant view the pic. Can u guys please upload the pic here?Hehe Quote
Hinckley Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Here's a question: What color blue is that? If it's not sand blue, then it's a real TLC model. Check BL It can't be an MOC if that piece hasn't been produced. I can't tell if the pieces in that pic are sand blue... Quote
Corvus Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 No way that's a new color for that part. I have it... somewhere. *wacko* It may be the lighting tricking me, but I think that's sand blue. Quote

I confirm that it is sand-blue. Quote
mutley777 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Well i can confirm that i this is a EU ship from the lucasarts x-wing, tiefighter and x-wing alliance games. If it is a real set then it looks pretty good to me. But didn't DJsaul say the storimes sat on the side? This looks more like they would go inside. :-/ Quote
hollisbrick Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I *wub* It!!!!! I think it is a prototype though. Oh well i guess we'll see who is right soon in 2008. Quote
Shadows Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yep, definitely sand blue (a colour I'm growing to appreciate). If this does turn out to be the real deal, it won't come with more guns than minifigs, that's just un-LEGO, so we'd have to either expect an adjustment there. I can't see them going away from the 4 figure battlepack formula, which would probably mean another Stormie, but there is no way that would come in at $15 with that much in ship parts. That said, a lack of stickers isn't that unusual for a prototype. It is an EU ship, but why they would pick it is beyond me. Stormies on the side sounds more like the old Kenner troop transport (a lame but nostalgically memorable piece of crap). I assume the thing the pilot is carrying is meant to be some form of charge pack / bomb. The flick missiles are annoying and make for an ugly space when empty. Oh, and the cargo box seems useless, yet has a lot more to it than usual. A round tile and a handle? Wait... The back end opens? Otherwise, why the hinged arms on top leading back to those large curved (wth do they call them there? wedges, plates, slopes, even bricklink seems to call them different things sometimes). That would mean that nearly every part except the cockpit is hinged somehow. Weird. If it's real and $15 (or less), I'll buy quite a few. Quote
casewindu Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 This set looks pretty official to me (maybe we should have a poll to see what people think! :-P ) if it is I thiink its a great model by battlepack standards but need a few more stormies. I thought it was meant to have shadow troopers, thats a pilot in the pic. Quote
Stauder Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Ohh , If its real Im savin up for 2 or more! This would go great with the ILC and 2 TIEs... Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah, it doesen't look real. The quad-missiles don't seem to have any means to flick them. The troopers made me drool because it looked so real at first, but it can't be real. First of all, too many blasters. No Lego set has had too many blasters, except the MTT. 2nd of all, there are too many weapons; I don't understand the rocket warheads with the detonator pushers. 3rd of all, the cockpit seems too small. And 4th of all, the set is supposed to have 4 stormtroopers, and they ride on the outside. It's still an awesome looking MOC. Very authentic, congratulations to whomever did it! Quote
