JopieK Posted July 17, 2015 Posted July 17, 2015 Very nice job! Based on what original (large) train or is it eve your own design?! Quote
medib Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I like the dark red / tan colour scheme. The brick techniques aren't too bad either. Quote
Sunder Posted July 18, 2015 Author Posted July 18, 2015 I know nothing about trains, so I don't know what to say about it. There was no prititype, it's just general image of a locomotive, may be a fusion of different ones. Quote
Dread Pirate Rob Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I know nothing about trains, so I don't know what to say about it. There was no prititype, it's just general image of a locomotive, may be a fusion of different ones. Excellent! That means we can all have a go at writing a background for this lovely locomotive:) The Dopravný podnik Bratislava made such a fortune from running trams around the city that they branched out into heave haulage. Their first freight locomotive has kept the tan and red colour scheme and distinctive curves of their trams and are now a common sight hauling intermodal trains all over Europe. How is that? Quote
zephyr1934 Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Good color scheme with lots of nice detailing. I like the 3x3 dishes in the turntable bases on top and the half stud inset with the 1x2 grilled cheese bricks for vents is slick, with a little tweaking that feature could make for a nice GP30. And who doesn't love the bottom of a snotted headlight brick? Too bad the 1x3 arches haven't been made in transparent yet. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Nice color combo. It looks a bit like the EMD BL2 locomotive. Is there a purpose for slanting the railings at the front and back? Quote
THERIZE Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 Nice color combo. It looks a bit like the EMD BL2 locomotive. Is there a purpose for slanting the railings at the front and back? yes! it sends other trains in the air to prevent damage from other ones. Quote
Hod Carrier Posted July 18, 2015 Posted July 18, 2015 I love it. The layout and configuration of the loco clearly follows American rather than European principles, but it has a style that evokes something more European such as a 1960s French electric locomotive. Whether it's the curves or the colour combination I couldn't say but it's very nice indeed. In an age when so many locos look like they've been built out of LEGO, even in Europe now, it's good to see something different. Quote

WholeWheatLego Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Nice job! You really have a good eye for details. If you want to run it on track, you might want to replace those 3 wheel bogies with smaller 2 wheeled ones. Big ones like that tend to grind quite badly in curves. Quote

THERIZE Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 You will if you space the wheels a stud apart. nope, i do it every time and never had problems. Quote
Legotom Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 That is very very awesome. I much prefer the red and tan to the blue and grey though. Pity the parts needed for it don't exist, it'd be an awesome build. Quote
