MagPiesRUs Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Day Three: Waiting for the Summer Rain Night descended on the longship. With it came news of Jarl Name-Loser's (jluck) allegiance. As suspected, he had been Corrupted. On deck sat Dagstyrr the Fool (Darkdragon), trying to come up with an idea for his next performance. Unfortunately, he didn't notice the axe-wielding figure creeping up behind him. "Time to take out the trash!" the figure shouted, swinging their axe at Dagstyrr's head. "What?" asked Dagstyrr, clearly startled, "What are you talking ab-" Dagstyrr was cut off. Literally. The killer faded into the night, leaving Dagstyrr decapitated on the deck. He was Loyal. Meanwhile, Pudding-Head (Hinckley) was wandering the ship. Hearing a strange noise in the distance, Pudding-Head rushed to the side of the ship to see where it was coming from. Pudding-Head let out a gasp, not expecting to find... ... long-lost friend Pernilla the Pig floating among the ice! Using a pair of nearby oars, Pudding-Head scooped Pernilla up. I have travelled to the end of the world and back to find you, master said Pernilla, probably. Something along those lines. Across the ship, Jafri (Jackjonespaw) appeared to be getting ready to get to sleep. He seemed very pleased about it. That's all. Petrus Fire-Starter (Pandora) was walking around, admiring his flame-thrower. He was so engrossed in it, he wouldn't have noticed if an axe-wielding killer was behind him... ... Fortunately for him, no one was behind him. Morning came, and the einherjar were shocked to find the corpse of Dagstyrr the Loyal Fool. Aside from Dagstyrr however, everyone else was still standing... ... Except for Tarben the Wise (Tamamono). But that's because he can't stand... ... And Munud the Strange (mostlytechnic), who appeared to have been cut in half during the night... ... But it only appeared that way. Soon, Munud got up and screwed his peglegs back on. "I always take my legs off when I sleep," Munud assured the others, "I can still walk, mein Emperor!" With everyone accounted for and the ice in the river finally melted, the warriors set sail and began to row to Valhalla. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned with either the Loyal or the Corrupted. To win the game, the Loyal must kill off all of the Corrupted, while the Corrupted must outnumber the Loyal. Neutral characters will have their victory conditions outlined in their role. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format; Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format; Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 2b. You may give your proxy vote to a player in the following format: Proxy: Character (Player). Doing so will gift your vote to the player of your choice, effectively giving them an extra vote. You may retract your proxy in the following format: Unproxy: Character (Player). 3. A game day will last for 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game host. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Violation of any of the above rules will result in a vote penalty (1 for every 4 players alive) on the first two occasions and a mod-kill on the third. 10. You must post in every day thread. Failure to do so will result in a mod-kill or a replacement. 11. If you encounter a problem or have any further questions, feel free to contact me via PM.
Chromeknight Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Well. That's a spectacular result. Clearly lots happened last night. I'm sure we won't need to wait long to hear the juicy details. In the mean time, why Dagstyrr?
Dragonfire Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Nice! We got another one! And since there was only one kill last night, something must have happened to the other kills. Dagstyrr could well have been killed by the SK, since he was very quiet and didn't even vote yesterday.
Piratedave84 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 2 in 2, we're on a roll here!!! Nice! We got another one! And since there was only one kill last night, something must have happened to the other kills. Dagstyrr could well have been killed by the SK, since he was very quiet and didn't even vote yesterday. How many should there have been?
JackJonespaw Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Nice! We got another one! And since there was only one kill last night, something must have happened to the other kills. Dagstyrr could well have been killed by the SK, since he was very quiet and didn't even vote yesterday. I guess? There isn't a bunch of evidence pointing to the SK taking down Dagstyrr, but it's certainly one of our options.
Chromeknight Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 How many should there have been? We saw two kills night 1. If there is a serial killer, we might expect up to three, if the roleblocker and angel miss.
Piratedave84 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 We saw two kills night 1. If there is a serial killer, we might expect up to three, if the roleblocker and angel miss. I know, I was implying he may know more than let on ... I'm curious to see if anyone was blocked last night
mostlytechnic Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Yes, info from blocking last night should reveal much, since I doubt the scum would have gone after someone so quiet he only posted a couple times in 2 game days. I'd assume that either Jarl was the scum killer or the blocker successfully blocked the killer. Or a protector protected the target. I'm not asking for results to be shared directly, but if the blocker and protector could share with SOMEONE, it'd sure give us a good start on today's lynch! My guess is Dag was most likely a SK kill. Small chance it was vig, but I'd put my mead mug on the SK for that one. And I'm highly relieved - was worried there when my name showed up in the day intro and I was legless! More importantly, we now have to assume that there IS a traitor and that he/she has been converted. The fact that Jarl confessed yesterday in order to ask for a traitor come out most likely means that the scum have a recruiting role and know there's a traitor among us. So, investigator, anyone you've cleared as loyal is NOT necessarily clear anymore! There's a chance Jarl's posting was a misdirect to distract us, but I doubt it. He went after the traitor too hard. ninja'd: I see we have a blocking result. Looks like mist is getting lynched today...
Hinckley Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 By the way, that is the best opening to a Mafia day...ever.
mostlytechnic Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 One thing that makes me now think cranebeinn is more likely to be loyal - Jarl voted for him both days. Day 2 it made sense since crane nearly got lynched (meaning Jarl would have voted for any townie instead of himself, but wouldn't have voted for a fellow scum who was close to being lynched). But day 1... just trying to avoid the bandwagon on brand I guess? Throw suspicion around?
Mencot Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Hahaha awesome opening to this day. Pernilla!!! Mist was blocked last night. Ability wasted because I don't have any talents.
Dragonfire Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 How many should there have been? According to Pudding, there is a vig. We can assume that the scum have a kill too. And there is usually a SK in this big a game, and Dagstyrr's kill seems like a SK kill to me. So I can conclude that there are most likely three killing roles in this game. We saw two kills night 1. If there is a serial killer, we might expect up to three, if the roleblocker and angel miss. What's an angel? Interesting news about Mist. I think I know where my vote is going today...
Hinckley Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 My guess is Dag was most likely a SK kill. Small chance it was vig, but I'd put my mead mug on the SK for that one. So you are suggesting we were missing one kill on Night One and two kills on Night Two? And I'm highly relieved - was worried there when my name showed up in the day intro and I was legless! I was similarly scared! But what a great payoff. Poor Pernilla has been so loyal to my family and they've always been evil before now. I will protect her forever now! Maybe the entire ploy was to undermine the investigator's results, which you have literally done in your post. Ping. ninja'd: I see we have a blocking result. Looks like mist is getting lynched today... I'm not so sure about that, mostly because you're so quick to chalk the day away to it.
Piratedave84 Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 SNIP Mist was blocked last night. bada-bing bada-boom! Lynch all the scum!!!! One thing that makes me now think cranebeinn is more likely to be loyal - Jarl voted for him both days. I can agree with this; it seems unlikely that Cranberry would be scum based on his day 2 vote. Hahaha awesome opening to this day. Ability wasted because I don't have any talents. Can you explain or give us you toughts on the lack of second/third kill and your being blocked? I think you need a better defence/explanation .... "I'm not scum" will not cut it ... SNIP Maybe the entire ploy was to undermine the investigator's results, which you have literally done in your post. Ping. SNIP Oh! I missed this ... SNIP More importantly, we now have to assume that there IS a traitor and that he/she has been converted. SNIP This seems to imply implies you know a conversion was succesfully done ... am I reading too much into this?

KotZ Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Good work. I would love to know what the scum were saying of Jarl's lynch, especially towards the end when he confirmed he was scum and asked for a traitor to come forward.
Lady K Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 We are at two for two, we need to keep this going. Mist was blocked and we only had one kill last night, coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. While not off the hook yet with me, I can say the final PM from Mist was far more normal than usual for her. As for both days voting on ChromeKnight, it looks like Jarl and was the only one who kept his vote on him both days. However, Ragnavald also voted for him both days, but changed his vote to Jarl to the hammer position. This might be worth looking into more.
Mencot Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Mist was blocked last night. If you trust this scumbag with his fake claims, you can already throw in the towel. I don´t have any nightactions, so the block has been totally useless on me. If Puddingface will claim that I did something he is as scum as his ancestor before him. We are at two for two, we need to keep this going. Mist was blocked and we only had one kill last night, coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. While not off the hook yet with me, I can say the final PM from Mist was far more normal than usual for her. If you mean that PM where I said I maybe haven´t played in any games or don´t remember any traitors in any of the games i have played before. Then yes I don´t remember any, doesn´t mean that it hadn´t been used. You said there was traitors in a submarine game where a Malcome was the investigator and he trusted the wrong people, the Godfather and the got whacked at night one. After that it was pretty much scum run through and if I remember correctly you were scum in that game so you had an better look on what happened. But that was that game and this is this game, totally different. You can´t base your accusations on that game, to claim I am a traitor in this game.

I didn't think you were a shoe-in for today's lunch actually. But now you are suggesting that I'm Scum for reporting the blocker targeted you. That seems Scummy to me. I would hope that if my report of another player's claim was false the real blocker would find some way to notify us. Maybe even contact you directly. But now that you claim you don't have an action you are the safest bet for a lynch. If you are Town, we're not losing a PR and we need to test the result. So, thank you. Goodbye

This make no sense based on what I said? Now you are back to being much stranger than usual and at the top to my scum list again. I gave you credit for a reasonable normal for you post in the PM. And yes, in another life on another boat in a different ocean, I was scum for one day and then I was dead...... so no I don't know more.......oh, wait I kept up with the dead and you didn't, you told me you didn't bother to follow or participate after you joined the dead..... so I would know more because I care enough to participate. So if you are not scum, which I still think you are, then you are a terrible townie and would be the best lynch for today.
Hinckley Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 You can´t base your accusations on that game, to claim I am a traitor in this game. Who is calling you a traitor?
mostlytechnic Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This seems to imply implies you know a conversion was succesfully done ... am I reading too much into this? Yes, you are. I don't KNOW that one was made. But I'm assuming since Jarl asked for the traitor to PM him that there IS a traitor and that the scum have a recruit ability. Since he posted it, there was a good block of time (a few hours at least) in which the traitor could have made contact. So it's possible that A, there is no traitor and it was a gambit to discredit anyone the investigator as cleared (as pudding pointed out), or B, that the traitor wasn't online or otherwise able to contact Jarl before the end of the day, or C, that the traitor didn't trust Jarl (heck, not a bad plan actually if you're town and think there's a traitor and am about to get lynched... claim scum and ask the traitor to contact you, then share their identity with someone before you die... have to remember that for future lives...) As for both days voting on ChromeKnight, it looks like Jarl and was the only one who kept his vote on him both days. However, Ragnavald also voted for him both days, but changed his vote to Jarl to the hammer position. This might be worth looking into more. I voted Crane both days too, just to be fair. Goodbye This. And no, that doesn't mean I'm done with the day as pudding claimed. Just means we can have the lynch pretty settled and fight about other things and poke and accuse and everything like normal. I do understand pudding's concern though, there's been times where a lynch was settled early in the day and the rest of the day just dried up. I think we've got enough people still alive to keep this party going though. More mead should help too!
Dragonfire Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I think it's like a protector? Oh, OK. I've just never heard it getting called an angel before. If you trust this scumbag with his fake claims, you can already throw in the towel. I don´t have any nightactions, so the block has been totally useless on me. If Puddingface will claim that I did something he is as scum as his ancestor before him. So you're accusing both Pudding and the blocker of being Scum now? Now you're getting defensive and OMGUS-y. Just because you got blocked and there was only one kill doesn't mean you have to start accusing everyone left and right of being Scum. Unless you're Scum yourself, in which case, carry on being as scummy as possible so that we can lynch you
Hinckley Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Yes, you are. I don't KNOW that one was made. But I'm assuming since Jarl asked for the traitor to PM him that there IS a traitor and that the scum have a recruit ability. You are suggesting there is a traitor and they can recruit? Sounds over-powered to me. Danr, Dar, Lodmund, Jafri, all coasting down the center, flying under the radar. It's easy for them to defend themselves to since they haven't said much.
