Darth_Ewok Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 I think that Wal-mart and amazon are the best for star wars lego. I try to get my sets after the movie has been out for a few months, then everything is on sale!
little-green-man Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Yeah, i like amazon too. But if you are looking for a good online lego site go to www.bricklink.com It has tons of mini stores with great deals ;)
MattZitron Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I've posted this elsewhere, but UK ROTS Lego fans: On shop at home UK if you get the Episode 3 collection, you end up saving
SuvieD Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Best deals huh? :-D Well I have found sets (in the US) over 50% off at Kmart, Target, Walmart (though rarely) >:( , Kohl's*, Cub Foods, Walgreens, Shopko, KBToys, and TRU. Some are more hit and miss than others. Shopko and TRU are faithful with BOGO 50% off *satis* . KB always has a few older sets at least 40% off but the others vary. The transition of sets usually brings the older set prices down the most. I am not sure of stores in other countries though. I do know that I will be extremely interested in trading for items that never make it to the US. Small grocery store viking sets if there are any, things like that. *wub* Dan *my best hauls ever were from Kohls. I got 65118 Secret Mission Collector's Pack with Alpha Team ATV, Alpha Team Helicopter, and Ogel Command Striker a $35 value for $9 :oD . I think I ended up getting 8 or nine of them (though I should have bought them all) *devil* . I also got 4048 Mech Lab with Mini Robots and Robobots a $30 value for $10 *satis* . I bought 21 of these. I decide to buy these instead of an ISD. I got the better deal I think ;) . 11403 pieces for about $230 after tax :oo . Unfortunately this last Christmas the shelves were LEGOless. :'( *sing*
xwingyoda Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 SuvieD, I can tell you that sales in France, or Paris at least SUCK *devil* . Basically, only twice a year you can find sets at around 35/40% off at the Galeries Lafayette. I miss my North Carolina days, sales all the time. Where I lived (in the middle of nowhere basically), there was Wall Mart, K Mart, TRU and KBToys (I went there once a week just to check things out), and I had some pretty cool deals ;)

xwingyoda Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Lucky you ;) That would never happen in France, that's for sure ;)
The Middleman Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Lucky you ;) That would never happen in France, that's for sure ;) No Wal-Marts in France?
xwingyoda Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 Lucky you ;) That would never happen in France, that's for sure ;) No Wal-Marts in France? No :'( I went to Wall Marts in Germany and they had no great deal apart for 1 set :'( Galeria Kauhof often has good deals but its still in Germany. The only good deals you can have its twice a year during the legal sales period: department stores nedd shelves for the incoming sets so you have 40/50% off *satis*
The Middleman Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 It's so weird hearing Europeans talk casually about going from country to country, that's a huge trip for Americans. ;)
xwingyoda Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 It's so weird hearing Europeans talk casually about going from country to country, that's a huge trip for Americans. ;) I didn't drive to Germany for Wall Mart ;) My ex was living there ;) Maybe but you Americans tend to drive a lot during breaks, thanksgiving to visit family, friends. In the US, you hardly do your post grad studies where you're from (I only saw a few in Duke): the others did college in their hometown, then undergrad somewhere else and university somewhere different. We Europeans tend to do basically everything in our home town or in a different city within our country ;)
