9v system Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 hey guys I would like to know what was your first lego set you got. my first set was a technic set and I was only 6 Quote
THERIZE Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I honestly don't know what it was... I believe it was the XXL crane. It was disappointing me because it was build wrong and destroyed itself in every corner... Quote
Kamil Z Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I honestly dont know either but it may have been set 4668 Outrigger Construction Crane Quote
HawkLord Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I don't remember which set as a kid was my first, but coming out of my dark ages as an AFOL it was X-Wing 6212. Still have the set and it's one of my favorites. Quote
JopieK Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The first set I remember getting was the 7710, that was at the 5th of December 1982. I was 2,5 years old than. I more or less skipped the Duplo phase, was always very disappointed by family that did not understood and gave me useless stuff like other toys or sketchbooks ;) After my Dark Ages it was the Santa Fe. Quote
Deathleech Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have some older Space Blacktron minifigs, Castle Black Falcon figs, and Pirates, so it had to be something from one of those themes as I don't even remember getting the sets that had them in them. Which one exactly I have no idea. After coming out of my dark ages it was the first wave of the Lord of the Ring sets. Quote
dr_spock Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I don't remember now either. That was such a long long time ago. It might have been a red tow truck. 7710 was the first set I bought on my own. Quote
TheLegGodt Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 As a kid I was into classic space and city trains. i think my first set may have been the 497 classic space ship. i was about 5 years old and I still today have it on display. My first set out of my dark ages was the Winter Village Toy Shop. Actually, I bought it together with my wife when we were visiting Legoland with our own 2 girls. She was the driving force although I was already craving after the huge Death Star set. It did not take me long to break the bank and get that set as well. And it has never recoverd since ;-) Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 The lego 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress. It was released in 1984 and i got it in 1986 of age 6....:-). Very happy with as i have a very unique memories back then Quote
GI_Jack Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 It was 744. I got it when I was 4 or 5 and played with it for many years. I still have most pieces, but sadly no box or instructions. I hope to find it on Ebay one day. Quote
Breakdown Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 My parentals were always of the thrifty variety. They bought me 190 as my first set. It was "New" as in MISB when I got it, but it was at least 4-6 years old when I received it (the set pre-dates my birth by 3 full years). The best I can tell I never went through a Duplo phase. Unfortunately my sister never went through a lego stage, and only got Duplo because I refused to hand down my lego. 190 is a pretty "handsome" set, the thing that I cannot get over is the friggin' massive people. That and the simple fact that the house is dwarfed by current lego ratio standards. It was weird growing up with massive people while my friends all had minifigs. Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 This was my first, in the early 80's: After that there was some Space sets, but I really don't remember which one. What got me out of those Times Without Light was this: Quote
alenvprekrsku Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 (edited) My very first Lego set was a Junior 10666 Digger purchased in 1st of may 2014 and I was 45 y.o. Edited July 8, 2015 by alenvprekrsku Quote
Agent 86 Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 I'm pretty sure it was Lego Space Lab (6972 Polaris-I Space Lab). I remember my grandfather helping me to build it at the dining room table. Quote
Giantorange Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Space scooter for me, I remember winning it in a raffle at my nursery school Xmas fete when I was 4. I remember having Bull's Attack Cart and the dragonrider set from the same series. What really brought me out of the dark ages was my little sister buying me the first Lego Star Wars PC game, Giving me a double nerd attack. It's all been downhill from there really. Fortunately my wife won't go in the loft in the new house, as there are too many spiders, so she can't see how much I actually have. Quote
saabfan Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I don't know exactly but I think it was one of the Duplo "Bob the Builder" sets. I used to love those :D Quote
-zenn Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Besides the obvious duplo I don't remember getting, I do remember getting these sets, probably cause I was in/out of the hospital a lot of the times... Also explains why I tend to build a lot of hot rods. Still got fond memories of that 'light & sound' police truck. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 This was my first set. Well, LEGO product anyway. Newborn baby packs at the hospital had them. Mum and then me didn't stop with the LEGO since Quote
Horsecreek Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 I don't know what set was the first I got. But I remember unwrapping 6980-Galaxy Commander for my Birthday in 1985 (I turned 6 that year) My Dark age began just before licensed sets became fleshies. 10211-Grand Emporium ended my dark age. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted July 10, 2015 Posted July 10, 2015 For me,it will be this one. Athough the build is simple and barely looks like the real 458 Italia, but because it's the first set i get.i have some sweet memories until i get 44019 Rocka Stealth Machine, my first Hero Factory set. Quote
anothergol Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 My very first, and for a trip back to '83, I bought a new one & opened it. And it was totally worth it. Quote
mpfirnhaber Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This is the first set I remember playing with, but I think it belonged to my older brother. This may have been the first set I got on my own. Hard to say, it was a long time ago :) Quote
Humdrum Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 My earliest memory of playing with Lego was with this set: The 6882 Astro Grappler Quote
