captaintau Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Wow! Three rounds down. Just eight fighters remaining. From now on, there's no random drawing, they fight in the order you see them listed below. Should be some hellish good matches. So, your survivors: 1. Boba Fett (Cloud City) 2. Yoda (Wookiee Catamaran) 3. Darth Tyranus 4. Obi Wan Kenobi (Ultimate Lightsaber Duel) 5. Kit Fisto 6. Darth Vader (Ultimate Lightsaber Duel) 7. Darth Maul (Sith Infiltrator) 8. Anakin Skywalker (Ultimate Space Battle) And so getting straight on with the first match. Featuring first the only non-Jedi/Sith remaining. Its the Bounty Hunter Boba Fett. And his opponent, the Jedi Master, Yoda Quarter Final 1: Boba Fett (Cloud City) vs. Yoda (Wookiee Catamaran) Quote
PSPguy Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Id love to say Boba but Yoda could jump over/on him and get his jetpack to fly into a wallz. Quote
SupremeCommmanderGrievous Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 This battle seems almost even. I think Boba could find a way to defeat Yoda, but *yoda* still has a better chance. Quote
captaintau Posted September 3, 2007 Author Posted September 3, 2007 I don't think Boba has a hope. Yoda doesn't have his Lightsaber here, but it won't matter. He'll flip away from blaster bolts or Force deflect them. Then use the Force to steer Boba's jetpack into... well, whatever hard surface comes to hand Quote
Shadows Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Reminds me of the Obi Wan / Jango fight in LSW. Boba will launch rockets at Yoda, Yoda will send them back at him. Game over. Quote

Scouty Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Yoda, being him, will annoy Boba to ashes with his unusual speaking skills...ahem, Yoda uses the force to do some trickery. Quote
jifel Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 (edited) i say 7 jedi/sith left, meaning boba got pushed off cloud city without his jetback jifel Edited September 4, 2007 by jifel Quote
iamded Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Well, Boba can fly, and he's got guns and rockets, but come on man, it's Yoda. So unless Boba has underwater breathing apparatus, thus being able to drown Yoda, Yoda would always win. In fact, Yoda would use the force to disconnect his breathing apparatus and use it for himself. So yeah, Yoda's gonna win. He's got the power! Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Come on, people! >:-( *n* It always comes down to the Jedi topping the blaster people and then it's a big Jedi duel. That's just boring, even if it's Kit Fisto vs. Obi-wan, or Yoda vs. Anakin. It's so been there donw that. So I vote Boba Fett, even though I know it's 9-1 in votes. Quote

I tried to have a sandtrooper take out Darth Tyrannus, I understand the sentiment ;-) Quote
captaintau Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 Maybe, in retrospect, we should have had two mini-competitions; one for Jedi & Sith (and I include General Grievous in this due to his Lightsaber prowess) and one for non-Jedi/Sith. After the Grand Final, would it be worth gathering the four or eight best non-Jedi/Sith for their own mini-competition? Quote
Shadows Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'm up for it. I think we could get some fairly creative writing out of a battle of the bounty hunters, or maybe a 2 on 2. Han and Chewie vs. Jabba and Bib Fortuna. Ok, bad example ;-) Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I know what ya' mean, IS. Yeah, I agree with the two different challenges. That way, we have two different champions fighting each other. So it's like this: 3 matches for non Jedi/Sith and 3 matches for Jedi/Sith. After they all end, the champion of the non Jedi/Sith duel would duel with the champion of the Jedi/Sith duel. Quote
captaintau Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 OK, so when the grand final is done, I'll work out from the rounds the best seven non Jedi/ Sith. I'm doimg 7 because Boba deserves a bye to the next round on the basis of being the only non-Jedi/Sith in the finals. A Bounty Hunter mini-tournament would be interesting, though I'd like to include smugglers in that, too. Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 thatd be cool make a bounty hunters one since yoda is a toad mutant i sayboba wins by shooting his rocket at yoda when hes eating his soup/stew Quote
captaintau Posted September 4, 2007 Author Posted September 4, 2007 So Master Yoda wins to be the first to enter the semi finals. The next match features a Sith Apprentice and a Jedi Knight. First, hailing from Dooku castle, its Darth Tyranus. And his opponent, from where-I-have-no-dea, its Obi Wan Kenobi. Quarter Final 2: Darth Tyranus vs. Obi Wan Kenobi (Ultimate Lightsaber Duel) As a side thing, I'll certainly go ahead with the Bounty Hunter mini-competition, but AFTER this main one. Quote
SupremeCommmanderGrievous Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Although I want Obi to win, We've seen in the movies twice that one-on one, Dooku beats Obi-Wan every time. >:-( Quote
Shadows Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Well, we technically saw this battle at a slightly earlier stage and Obi ended up unconscious, thus would have been killed. I don't actually think he became a better jedi from the beginning to the end of Episode 3, but then one wonders how he beat Anakin after losing to Dooku. I think it's because he had spent so much time with Anakin that he could predict his movements. He didn't have that benefit with Dooku, and to me at least, it means he loses again. Tyrannus wins, and it isn't a huge challenge. Bounty Hunters vs. their Bounty next? Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 dooku wins all the time i have no need for these pathetic jedi all the time lol jk Quote
iamded Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 They meet, they fight, Dooku ends up decapitating Kenobi! 'Cause that's cool. :-D Quote
jifel Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 anikan decapitated dooku, and then got enialated by obi, so obi won wins jifel Quote
captaintau Posted September 5, 2007 Author Posted September 5, 2007 I don't actually think he became a better jedi from the beginning to the end of Episode 3, but then one wonders how he beat Anakin after losing to Dooku. I think it's because he had spent so much time with Anakin that he could predict his movements. I think its because that fight was on a whole new level. There was so much emotion and determination on both sides and there was so much at stake. Anyway, I agree that Darth Tyranus wins. He's beaten Obi Wan twice (both times quite easily) and in this match Obi Wan is hampered by being LULS. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Yeah, plus Dooku can easily use the Force to push Obi-wan against a wall, then use the Force to have something fall down on him. Or, Tyranus could just duel it out and use the advantages of an LULS opponent and easily defeat Obi-wan. Dooku wins! Quote
The Kid Posted September 5, 2007 Posted September 5, 2007 Seeing as Obi's lightsaber only seems to move up and down, he doesn't prove much of a challenge for 360-degrees-Dooku. TK Quote
