*y* Excellent. If enough people don't buy them then they'll stop next year and spend more time on the sets (I refuse to call the playsets sets).

If only I could sell my 05 playsets... what was I thinking...

Depending on what ones they are, I might be willing to buy. Specifically looking for the Visorak Gate.

After purchasing both Lesovikk and Hahli, I think the prescription is simple carefulness. Not a single one broke, I just made sure to counter the pressure caused by the ball joint on the limbs when I put it together. Haven't tried deconstruction or anything, they're for posing, so if you're using the pieces for MoCing purposes I dunno what to tell you. Still, if you're just careful of what you're doing you've got nothing to fear.

The problem is not LEGO quality, it's Lesovikk quality.

The Lesovikk set has a number of issues (this is not the first time I've heard of Lesovikk with broken joints.) This is why it was recalled. You probably ended up with a fractured set.

Also, as InnerRayg suggested, carefulness is also an issue. There is a way to take off ball joints without breaking them, and I have done it several times. As such, all the broken joints I have are from 2004-Winter2006. Ever since the summer, I do not have a single broken joint, and I am one that likes to rebuild sets to observe their construction. Between my younger brothers and I (the youngest of which is 11), we have all six Barraki, all six Mahri, and all Titans save Lesovikk. (I dislike him) Not one of them has a broken joint. Yet a number of my 2006 sets have broken joints (the Piraka) and a great number of my 2005 sets have broken joints. A Nidhiki joint is also broken.

As far back as 2004, this happened. It happens. I used to take sets apart a lot more than I do now, that could be an issue. I also used to take apart ball-joints willy-nilly, and now I am more careful. So I really don't see this as a LEGO issue. What is a LEGO issue is the quality of the Lesovikk set. Seeing as Lesovikk is the only recalled LEGO set I can think of, it doesn't seem like LEGO is failing, considering the recent mass recall of other toy companies.

I don't like Lesovikk, but Hahli Mahri is pretty cool. I reccomend her, from second-hand experience. (My brother owns Hahli Mahri.) We haven't had any broken joints as of yet with her.

P.S. The targert audience is age 7-8 in America, I think 6-8 in Europe. If you read the canisters/boxes, there is no 1-8.

I think the issue is that not ALL Lesovikk/Hahli sets have this problem. My Hahli's lime joints lived through everything I put them through, and it was pretty rough. The thing is, a batch of lime parts, which is ironically the color Lego's fixed on this year, was poorly molded or something akin -- alas, those were packed into sets before the flaw was discovered.

So, sadly, it's all a matter of luck or lack if you get a sound Lesovikk or Hahli set! :-/ Replacement parts shouldn't have the same problem, though, I hope.

I know, VK, I was jus' reffering to GregF's personal target audience :)

Yeah, yeah, I know, someones gonna hit me for this.

Anyhow, all I know is that not a single joint has broken - despite years of wear and tear - on any of my 01-04 sets, yet my 06-07 sets have cracked joints. And I dont even take them apart! (I dont have enough 05 sets to tell...)

I got the replacements today!!!YAH!!!Light up piece perfect, and four extra lime green joints!!they haven't broken yet either. And yes this seems to be Solely Lesovikk's problem. I haven't heard much Hahli grief yet, just Lesovikk. But he's cool. He's always cool. But he is not my favorite Toa...He's my only Toa...here in the Apt. I won't get to see the others for some time, and might just grab the Pirakas and sell them, 'coz they're totally useless to me now. Except Vezon.

I just tested my Hahli Mahri. Bad. Very, very bad. I was starting to put pressure on the joint, and it fractured. :'-(

Meh, Hahli's not my favorite anyway.

Perhaps, then, you should...ask Lego to replace them? My New Lime Green joints have not yet broken. Lime Green=teh SUXXOR. When I buy my Hahli Mahri, I'm going to be prepared! I'm gonna be ready!

I got a replacement lime green joint for my Hahli. It broke on the same day, as did 2 more joints. :'-(

Yes this problem is very consistant in the Lime Green Hand Joints and Leg Joints.

Lego accidentily cooled the batch of these pieces for too short a time causeing the pieces to be brittle and to break easy.

This has been happening in set # 8914 Hahli Mahri, 8920 Ehlek, and 8939 Toa Lesovikk.

The best option is to call Lego they will be gratefull to replace your parts within 9-12 buisness days.

Pfft. It goes a bit beyond just those parts or colors.

I noticed the turning point to break-the-first-time-you-insert-them parts came with the Visorak.

Since then... well, here we are.

I have so many broken parts now that I actually have a small bin for them.

It's like collecting Spawn figures all over again. (Well, ok... not THAT bad lol).

Hahaha... that's a sentence industry uses whenever they mess up. It's the EXACT same line Todd Mcfarlane gave me when I called him out on Howard Stern back in the 90's.

"Hey Todd, what's this caller saying about your figures always breaking.. ?"

"Ooooh, oh yeah, uh, SOME of our Spawn figures were having problems... it was the fault of the manufacturer in China cooling the plastic too fast... but it's fixed now! Besides, they're not really "action" figures, more like sculptures you just pose." ...Lol, lol aaand lol. :-|

In reality, they went "cheap", and they got back "cheap".
