AgentRick Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I'm curious to see why some of you voted for Boats? I'm thinking the old classic police boat and fireboat?Does anyone know the 1st Lego boat that actually floated? I think I know, but would have to check. I still have it, but am missing one of the sections. The ultimate lego book says that the sectional boats from the early 70's were the first to float, but I cannot check this. Quote
Jones Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I voted for the Classic Boats. The 4011 Cabin Cruiser is one of my all-time favorites. But I also like a lot of the "beach" nautica sets. I swear, I must have about a dozen windsurfers from all those sets that came out between 1992 and 1997. The 6342 Beach Rescue Chopper, the 6338 Hurricane Harbor, 6351 Surf N' Sail Camper, 6595 Surf Shack, 1791 Windsurfer and Van, not to mention the pink ones from 6401 Seaside Cabana, 6414 Dolphin Point, etc. Maybe I should MOC a windsurfer race with all the pretty sails! BrunoSilva13 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 6541 Intercoastal Seaport - 1991 6542 Launch & Load Seaport - 1991 Aren't these great sets? They were both part of the Nautica theme. I vote Nautica(1991), for me, the greatest sea ports in the history, and I doubt who a day the LEGO make sets of the level of this two, miss from the old times, I have the 6541, and I will buy the 6542 briefly, I love them. Captain Zuloo Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Pirates of course! What about Star Wars. We have the Gungan Sub and... we have the Gungan Sub. The Tank droid and Dwarf Spider Droid both run underwater. Wookiee Catamaran? Batman has a Batboat. There's the Crocboat and the Penguin sub and Robin's thingy in the Batcave. They count as other then, don't they. I voted Nautica as water is a huge means of transport of goods, and although these ships may be small, at least they aren't just one piece like their 2008 counterparts. Quote
Runninglizard55 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 i voted Nautica soley because of the peir police and the 2 seaports. i love divers too and that was a close second. the problem i had with divers though is the playability factor you basically needed 2 levels to have the real fun that was pictured on the boxes. Rob PBS Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Just got my first Nautica set (Pier Police) and it's wonderful! I'm really looking forward to getting the rest (although I'm not sure I have the room for some of the larger ones. Quote
