El Bucanero Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 If I'd only knew what a captain's cabin looks like on this kind of ship... Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted September 3, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) Thanks for making my galley Brickster! I think it looks great. Not at all too wooden like some Walrus :-P suggested. I like all the details. Especially that lamp-thing hanging from the ceiling. Edited September 3, 2007 by Bonaparte Quote
john cleese Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 Well I don't know about realistic, I've never been in an engine/boiler room Mr. Navy :-| I wanted to make it somewhat greebled without being TOO greebled. Anyway I threw this together in about an hour so sorry if it sucks :-$ Here's the overall shot: Here's meeeeee Aren't I adorable swooshing my model Enterprise? *wub* (I'll get you for this, Brickster) And here's another angle: Man I hope BS is back up soon :'-( for some reason this boiler room reminded me of the ducts in the movie Brazil. Quote
yellost Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 er, all of those really great MOC makes me wonder about something, though... What kind of ship is the sea ghost? Is it a modern type of cargo like in the teaser poster? What confuses me is the boiler part of the engine... I mean, I don't know anything about ships (obviously) but I don't suppose it is a steam boat, is it? Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 I'll try to build my room.. If i get time. ;-) Quote
Siegfried Posted September 4, 2007 Posted September 4, 2007 for some reason this boiler room reminded me of the ducts in the movie Brazil. I wouldn't reccomend watching that movie too much! *wacko* Quote
Siegfried Posted September 6, 2007 Posted September 6, 2007 I think it looks great. Not at all too wooden like some Walrus :-P suggested. Well, this is the type of galley that was on the ships I served on.... Not as cool looking I admit. X-D Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 I love this recent one from Hink as the Captain gives Gene Wagonberry a "swirly". Great toilet! Quote
Shadows Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I love this recent one from Hink as the Captain gives Gene Wagonberry a "swirly". Great toilet! It's such a good toilet I've already stolen it, added a handle, and filed it away for future use *y* Quote
Hinckley Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Thanks guys! X-D It's nice to know I have a skill... :-/ jackassery! X-D ;-) Quote
Shadows Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Ok, since there really isn't a "comment on / heckle" the mystery thread, I'll do it here. Slosh... Slosh... Slosh...What is that outside the cabin door? cry4.gif I don't know about you Otto, but I'm not going to the kitchen without the rest of the crew. -------------------- Mystery Ship Narrator and passenger Pete Falklin, Retired Detective, en route to Germany to attend the Octoberfest. Narrator, my megabloks, he's the puppetmaster and you're all on his strings! DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR! He's just trying to get you all running around out in the open, and shocker ... one of you will die and it won't be him! >:-( *wacko* I'm sorry, I just had a horror movie moment. The one where all the teen campers find the cabin to hide in and one of them decides it's a good time to go off to the basement with his girlfriend, only to end up harpooned to the wall. I don't even know where the killer gets a harpoon out in the middle of the woods, but he always manages. Ooooh, one of you is soooo dead. *runs back to watch it happen* Quote
Hinckley Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Ooooh, one of you is soooo dead. *runs back to watch it happen* megablocking monday morning quarterback... Quote
Shadows Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 megablocking monday morning quarterback... Sure, you know you're safe for a while. Nobody kills the comic relief captain this early. :-P At least I didn't speculate on whom it would be *cough*nerd*cough* ;-) Oh, and it's nice to see that at least one of you has been paying attention to your horror movie standards and knows the do's and don'ts of these situations. Well, except for wanting to return to the scene of the first grizzly murder, a place well stocked with all kinds of nasty murder weapons that could easily be turned against you, but hey, who am I to say? :-| Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Ok, since there really isn't a "comment on / heckle" the mystery thread, I'll do it here. This made me ask, are spectators allowed to post speculation and theories about the story in this thread or any other particular thread? Or should theories be private? Quote
Shadows Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 This made me ask, are spectators allowed to post speculation and theories about the story in this thread or any other particular thread? Or should theories be private? I've been working under the assumption that comments relevant to the story are good in any of the related threads, but that only the participants should post in the chapters. So far no one has yelled at me ;-) Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 10, 2007 Author Posted September 10, 2007 This made me ask, are spectators allowed to post speculation and theories about the story in this thread or any other particular thread? Or should theories be private? Certainly. I'd enjoy reading your thoughts. But this particular thread was more intended to be the Building Challenge. This thread might be a little better: Sneak Peek. I've been working under the assumption that comments relevant to the story are good in any of the related threads, but that only the participants should post in the chapters. So far no one has yelled at me ;-) Correct. Only participants should post within the chapters. All other threads are fine. Sure, you know you're safe for a while. Nobody kills the comic relief captain this early. :-P You never know. I enjoy twists and surprises! Quote
Shadows Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 You never know. I enjoy twists and surprises! Told you people not to trust the detective :-P Quote

(under the condition that I can be a crew member on her :-P ) Very nice Coast Guard ship Stauder. It has a real classic look about it. Is that base from the old cargo boat? The only thing is that this is not from any of the Mystery Ship scenes. Quote
