Siegfried Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 While I was waiting for 6209 (Slave 1) to appear in a local store I realised I needed a quick fix, so I raided my sons Duplo box and made a temporary version. Has anyone else felt the need to do this, or just made a duplo creation for the heck of it? To be honest, I do this a bit. :-$ I made this... ...while waiting for 7249 (XXL Mobile Crane) and this... ...while waiting for 7905 (Tower crane). Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Wow, Sinner. I haven't touched my Duplo since I was 5... Still though, I like your version of Slave 1. *y* Quote
PSPguy Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 I might just do this some time. Brb. Gotta get Duplo sets. ;-) Quote
Hinckley Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Ha! Cute. *wub* You must be a pretty cool dad! ...assuming you let him play with those when you were done... :-/ Quote
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2007 Author Posted August 31, 2007 Ha! Cute. *wub* You must be a pretty cool dad!...assuming you let him play with those when you were done... :-/ I sure did. The tower crane didn't last long though as he insisted on rolling it, and let me assure you, the counterbalance was not just decoration! Once that thing started wobbling it went down! :-P Quote
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2007 Author Posted August 31, 2007 And how did your kid take that? 8-| Predictibly, he asked me to fix it for him. :-| Quote
Siegfried Posted August 31, 2007 Author Posted August 31, 2007 Did you? ;-) >:-) The first time, but not the second.... :-D Quote
PSPguy Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Glue is a wonderful thing. But if your a purist whatever. X-D Quote
Shadows Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 That Slave I really isn't bad at all! I saw a poll once asking if we would be interested in a Duplo SW line and I said no. Now I'm beginning to wonder. I'm still thinking no, but a Duplo Darth Vader would be shockingly superdeformed (even more than normal minifigs, I mean) and thus even cuter, if that's possible. It's something to consider, but I'm not buying piles of Duplo for a contest, so don't get any bright ideas! :-P Quote
paksu Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 (edited) Wonderful! That just made my day.... :-D We could definitely use a Duplo subforum, with Duplo MOC contests and discussions on Duplo SNOT techniques etc... My sister's three year old daughter has a bunch of Duplo and always insists on me building stuff with her... *wub* Once I was babysitting her at our place and gave her some of my System Lego to play with, and her face just lit up. Now she's constantly asking: "Uncle, when do I get to play with your small bricks again?". :'-) Edited August 31, 2007 by paksu Quote
Holodoc Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Cool creation, Sinner! My younger son stills plays with Duplo, so from time to time I have to accompany him. When you get to build with Duplo you soon realize how hard it is to build something properly. :-| Limited choice of bricks, weird colors and almost every time you Quote
Dryw Filtiarn Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Funny creations there :D I've been building a bit with Duplo as well, but that where just creations for my little nephew. Nowadays I occasionally use it to fill up voids in bigger constructions to add some stability :) Quote
Landlubber Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 Ha ha , You're a clown Sinner. Maybe we should do a Duplo MOC contest in the Town Forum though. I'd like to see Hinkley beat us then. My boy's got quite a collection I could "borrow". EVen though he's only 16 months and prefers to throw rather than build, he's up to around 50 of the connectable car bases and buckets of bricks. Siegfried Posted September 1, 2007 Author Posted September 1, 2007 Glue is a wonderful thing. But if your a purist whatever. X-D Well that tower crane took all of his 2x2 duplo blocks. I think he would belt me up if I did that to him. :-P Besides, most of his interest in Duplo/Lego is that he can make a space ship and the crash it making loud explosion noises. |-/ That Slave I really isn't bad at all! I saw a poll once asking if we would be interested in a Duplo SW line and I said no. Thanks. I was decently pleased with it as well. My son didn't think much of it and broke it rather fast. :'-( I never heard about the Duplo Star Wars poll. Was this a Lego sanctioned poll? Wonderful! That just made my day.... :-D We could definitely use a Duplo subforum, with Duplo MOC contests and discussions on Duplo SNOT techniques etc... Duplo actually does have a few pieces suitible for SNOTting, :-D but I have never tried very hard to make something good. I have seen some excellent Duplo creations, but with Brickshelf down (again) I will have to post them later. :'-( Cool creation, Sinner! My younger son stills plays with Duplo, so from time to time I have to accompany him. john cleese Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 no sinner, your desperate when you build with megablocks, even one. But you must be on the verge of suicide when you build with the big megablocks. Quote
Siegfried Posted September 1, 2007 Author Posted September 1, 2007 FBTB.net I voted yes! :-D I want to see evil Duplo, and this guy... ...doesn't cut it! :-P Quote
